Tired of sifting my way through the old thread. Let's chat here about this week's happenings...

Speaking of voting.....you may wish to shimmy over to this thread..and think about voting for a SCD stalwart in the Christmas-name comp.!! .

Tenlordsalappin seems to be collecting the 'popularity' vote, rather than the 'great name for Christmas' vote....

And it IS a funny name you have and should be proud of it!! Just the removal of a vowel has worked wonders....

Would anyone know how the 5 dances are being marked? Is it purely on phone votes or do we get the judges still making up 50% as usual?? And I've seen none ofthe ITT this week!!

On this page it says:
"In the final week the viewers will decide who will be crowned Strictly Come Dancing Champion 2007." But I'm sure the dances will still be marked, otherwise the judges may as well not bother going.

I also found this which talks about the music but gives clues as to the dances. Alesha appears to be doing her Cha Cha Cha. I can't find the list of all the tracks used so far and can't remember if the other tracks listed have been used so far.

Right. Found it. Dances for Saturday night are:
Matt - American Smooth and Salsa
Alesha - Waltz and Cha Cha Cha.

They are both doing a show dance and a 'group' Viennese Waltz.
Also there is one where they've been given the same piece of music but different dances to do - chosen by the judges.

Not that you're obsessed with the details or anything Tiger????

We've been invited to so many drinks do's tomorrow (bloody typical none for weeks & 4 at once!!) but I'm having to arrange them around Strictly......how sad is that???!!

Re: marking, I think what happened last time is the first three dances were marked by the judges, then the final two are in the second show (Viennese Waltz and Showdance, from memory?) and the judges get to comment on them but don't score them. Certainly they didn't score Mark and Karen's showdance last year because they did it just before the phone lines closed.

I think you're right there tribpot. The VW and the show dance are certainly in the second show so that would make sense. I really can't remember what happened last year.

whats the point of the showdance if they do it just before the lines close? i think they do judge it, didnt mark n karen get 40 for it..cant remember!

Doesn't Brucie do some song or other and all the eliminated contestants come on and do a little turn? Maybe that happens after the show dances but before the lines close.

BTW - I have not been here since 11.14 looking for gossip, I've been burning a batch of star shaped biscuits that were supposed to be used as place cards at the dinner tomorrow night
