Had succumbed to the spoiler (I'm weak) so knew Gethin was going. Couldn't watch tonight's show. May not bother with next week's final (sulk emoticon). So, so, so gutted for Gethin - even before reading the spoiler. A lot of the judges' comments seemed so negative - conspiracy theories ahoy!!!

I blame Katherine Jenkins. She scuppered Gethin and last night she scuppered Rhydian by singing a duet with him. She's not perfect after all!

That guest performance WAS amazing (not least the six-pack) but it was hardly a dance was it - more a gymnastic performance to music!!

So glad Alesha got through, didn't mind which of the boys did.

Tess' dresser needs sacking though!!

Totally agree, bossy. The show 'dance' was increadible, but wasn't really a dance. It was a serise of very impressive lifts, throws and balances. For the first half they stood virtually still. Very good but not a dance imho.
Also agree about Tess' dresser

Tess Daly's stylist on the show clearly doesn't like her very much.

Ds was thrilled Matt and Flavia stayed in. They were very, very kind to him when he bumped into them at the gym - he was there for swimming lessons, they were rehearsing. Flavia saw him peeping at the windows and said 'oh, you don't want me, come and meet Matt' and invited him in. And they gave him their autographs and wrote a very lovely message. He's only four and he was chuffed. Not half as chuffed as dh who was secretly encouraging ds to peep!

I'm relieved that Alesha is through, but gutted that Gethin and Camilla are out. It was obvious that the judges would choose Matt, they left themselves nowhere to go after so overmarking his waltz... and I thought his AT was the worst of the lot. How sulky and miserable is he going to be this week with 5 dances to do??
Totally agree about the show dance, it was amazing gymnastically, but not a dance IMO either.

Ahh, but now I've read how lovely Matt and Flavia were to your DS, Edam, i don't feel so bad about them beating Gethin to the final... I want Alesha to win though!

I haven't seen the show yet, but have seen the spoiler. I am so gutted Gethin is out. Other than Matt's "walking around" performance, my fear is that he'll funk it next week and hand Alesha the trophy on a plate, whereas Gethin would at least give her a run for her money.

Sounds like this year's showdance was a bit like last year, where Lion-o and Cheetarah showed off their feline skills

Wow I was really surprised about the results. All of them deserve to win for one reason or another imo.

dd1 asked when the guest dancers did their gymnastic spot "why is that lady not wearing a dress? The other ladies wear dresses."

Heard on the radio this morning that Camilla had a complete hissy fit after the vote off on Saturday & refused to come out of her dressing room!!

I have to say that, much as it was impressive from a gymnastic point of view, I found the guests' dance singularly unattractive. At several points you could have seen right up her fundament .

It wouldn't have looked out of place at a sports show, but I wouldn't call it dance.

Me neither Freckle-hav eto say after the grace & elegance of the other dancers it left me cold! (although the six-pack was very easy on the eye!! )

oh dear. I'm so glad Matt and Flavia are in the final because I love Flavia so much, and because Matt has something so winning about his demeanor, but agree his tango wasn't half as good as the lovely Rampakash. Gethin got quite good but still didn't move me at all. I didn't see Matt mess up last week though. I think Alesha will win anyway, well, she should.

Isla...as Tiger said...Tess's dress looked lovely ontop, and then I saw the poor girl top to bottom, and the dress was god awful...sort of a balloon skirty thing going on in the bottomhalf....dreadful
She must have done something dreadful to deserve that kind of wardrobe...lol!

Bossy, I agree the guest performance was of courese nice, but dh and I both agreed it wasn't really a dance, it looked like a circus acrobatic performance, not a dance!

Lol JS girl...now, I was very pleased that Rhydian didn't win...not that I followed X-factor much this year, but that guy freaks me out...with his starry glare....shudder....I liked Leon from the day he walked into that Audition I do think Rhydian will do well anyway, dh and I were joking that if he should ever do the Phantom of the opera, he wouldn't even need to dress up ;) only joking

Margo, lol at your dd's comment! She's got a point though!

As for me, am pleased that Aleasha is in the Final, and am glad for Flavia that she got Matt through to the finale, as she didn't really get a chance last year....
But 5 dances....wow...that is a lot of dancing....Anyone know what dances they will do? Obviously a freestyle one and then what?

I think Camilla had the hump because she thought they would get the lions share of the votes, she seemed pretty convinced that they were in the final!
Matt Cutler on the other hand looked completely shocked to have got through, I really think he and Alesha thought they would have to do the dance off.
