Billy puts his trust in God
But shouldn’t trust that sneaky Todd
He framed poor Paul - the rotten sod!

Two Corrie rhymes for the price of one Grin

To be fair, there's no soap where Cindy Beale didn't deserve to be crushed by a car, and if I was Leanne's mother I'd have probably thrown myself under Carla's car.

Spidey66 · 25/08/2021 07:00

Cindy Beale? From Eastenders?

PrincessScarlett · 25/08/2021 08:42

Cindy actress Michelle Collins played Leanne's mum, Stella. She's currently residing in France with Eva I think.

eddiemairswife · 25/08/2021 09:42

Didn't Judy Mallet drop dead while hanging out the washing?

Queenoftheashes · 25/08/2021 09:46

Yup and it won’t be long until that happens on classic Corrie

Queenoftheashes · 25/08/2021 09:47

It was her mum who got run over by Tony Horrocks

Oh I'm with you....of course.

@eddiemairswife

Didn't Judy Mallet drop dead while hanging out the washing?
It was, however, due to the after effects of a car crash.

I’ve realised that permit parking won’t solve any of the problems they’ve experienced. There’ll still be cars on the street so ambulances won’t be able to get up and there’ll still be fumes causing boys to get asthma from rolling the ball on the street.

Well exactly! They'll all get residents' parking permits!

We get 1 free one per house, then a second one for £50 p.a., and you can even get a third one for £500. Businesses like Kev's would apply for business permits, and there are also visitors' temporary permits. And everyone usually gets two free hours anyway, for visiting.

It's all done online now so you can't even see who's got a valid permit or not! So Sally's no doubt inevitable Permit Patrol will be futile.

They need double-yellows on that corner.

If stoped non residents driving on road still 70% of traffic and shoppers just park further away on someone else road. I’m in LTN (low traffic neighbourhood) They can’t get shops because giant planter so they sit outside my window with engine running while partner goes shopping 100 metres away. They displace traffic someone else kids.

FabulouslyFab · 25/08/2021 12:46

This is so true!
SpindleWhorl · 25/08/2021 16:20

The worst problem with Residents' Parking Zones is the displacement effect. Councils know this, but local councillors keep hankering for them for their residents. Poisoned chalice, unless everyone gets them.

Living just outside one must be a nightmare.

Is that what Corrie is kack-handedly trying to show?

Akire · 25/08/2021 17:54

In normal streets most people would have a car each anyway so even without tram line and other streets it would be packed. Especially when Terrace houses are very narrow. If anything it’s Beyoncé living in Victoria courts who are 2 care households with zero parking that are problem.

They can’t really even highlight cycling as cobbles would mean having go on pavement. Though if Imran wants to start wearing Lycra…

Akire · 25/08/2021 17:55

Not Beyoncé she defo doesn’t live at Victoria court!

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 25/08/2021 18:06

No doubt the parking issue will fizzle out and once again Coronation street will be a carless street again.

Remember when Mary used to park her Motorhome on the street?

MrsRobbieHart · 25/08/2021 18:18

Remember when les Battersbys mate parked his camper on the street? Grin

I hardly know what's going on now, I keep zoning out and feeling bored, I pay more attention to classic

Idontwantyourfreedom · 25/08/2021 19:50

Isn’t Jack Webster meant to be about 10? The actor looks about 16 🤨

Akire · 25/08/2021 19:52

He’s 11 I think must be going high school soon. He is very tall and bless voice is breaking. He could be interesting character over Liam and David oldest

Akire · 25/08/2021 19:55

Is that back entrance to loading bay? The loading bay with steps that Izzy uses get into factory as front door has steps Confused

Exactly what I said.
BusySittingDown · 25/08/2021 20:14

Jack Webster is supposed to be 10/11 he was a baby in Molly's arms in the team crash (Dec 2010). Hope was born during the Tram crash so she'll be 10 nearly 11. I only remember because I was heavily pregnant with DD2 at the time and she's 10 and looks the same age as Hope. It makes me laugh that Jack does NOT look a similar age - he looks more like DD1's age (14). I predict soap rapid ageing syndrome with Jack soon where they'll pretend he's older. Either that or he'll get a new head!

Roussette · 25/08/2021 20:26

Perhaps he's Benjamin Button!

He'll be with the quads in the cupboard in no time!
