Billy puts his trust in God
But shouldn’t trust that sneaky Todd
He framed poor Paul - the rotten sod!

@Leaveitonthefloordrobe

I wish someone would do some straight talking to Fiz, and tell her that her daughter is a danger to others if she has such violent tendencies when things aren't going her way. I can't be doing with the pathetic wailing about what will happen to Hope. The child needs professional help before she kills someone!
I think it was a mis-step by the writers to have Fizz react in the way she has. Your traditional, tough Northern mam would have recognised that Hawp needed help well before now and would have moved heaven and earth to get it.
eggandonion · 18/08/2021 13:02

Brian will sort it out once he has sorted out abis personal statement thing.

eddiemairswife · 18/08/2021 13:32

Has Brian usurped Ken's role as The Only Intellectual On The Street?

eggandonion · 18/08/2021 13:59

Only until Daniel is fully trained.

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 15:01

Grin @eggandonion

Do they think we’re still in the 60’s? Flipping Jack is qualified enough to help Abi with her statement ffs!

ElderflowerRose · 18/08/2021 19:40

Are police interviews with children really like this?

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 19:42

I’ve no idea. I expected them to have a different person- like a dedicated children’s police person asking the questions.

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 19:54

A trial?? Surely that is to determine guilt. Hope has already admitted her guilt.

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 18/08/2021 20:03

The questions seemed incredibly leading, I really hope it’s not a true reflection

Akire · 18/08/2021 20:11

My goodness how to traumatise whole generation of parents!! They already know she thought no one was hope. Why saying 12years? Todd could set fire to cafe and get 40hours serving soup!! In fact sure murders on street have got less.

Surely she would be at home with support. Can’t believe this is true reflection she never get better of sent away now. I’m honestly shocked!

SpindleWhorl · 18/08/2021 20:12

I doubt Detective Haircut would have been the only police officer in the room at that point?

And what's the Youth Offending Team got to do with it? They deal with prevention and convicted young offenders. They're not the Crown Prosecution Service.

SpindleWhorl · 18/08/2021 20:14

It's just bonkers, @Akire.

The writers are definitely not on fire at the moment.

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 20:16

There’s no way they can charge her with arson with intent to harm. She’s very clearly said she didn’t know anyone was home and didn’t mean to hurt anyone. It’s obviously a case of a child who has a fascination with fire, saw the flame on the nail varnish remover and decided to see what would happen. Children get fascinated with all sorts of things without realising that it’s so dangerous or knowing that it will spread really quickly. When my eldest son was about 6 he stapled his trousers to his leg because he was having so much fun stapling things (without my knowledge BTW) he just got carried away. I know that’s not in the same league as setting a fire but just an example of how they can get caught up in what they’re doing and not be aware of the consequences.

Roussette · 18/08/2021 20:27

Biggest understatement ever!! Grin

Itstheprinciple · 18/08/2021 20:28

I see we're back to sewing knickers in the 'factree'

Roussette · 18/08/2021 20:29

My brother tried to set a fire going in our shed when we were young. He did it so he could call the Fire Brigade, and he did! They turned up to a smouldering piece of newspaper lol

I noticed that too. Glad to see it. And nick and Leanne back in the bistro. Could we be going back to the better times??

Also- lol at Daniels comment to Daisy “no we thought we’d just let him choke” Grin

I’m going to sound like a shit parent here but my other DS called the police because I asked him to empty the dishwasher. They actually came out and gave him a stern talking to about wasting their time. I was mortified!

Roussette · 18/08/2021 20:35

Oh Motion love it!

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 20:37

@Roussette

Oh Motion love it!
I can laugh about it now but he told them I was “doing child abuse” on him!! Hmm Grin when probed about what this “abuse” was he admitted that he just didn’t want to empty the dishwasher!
Roussette · 18/08/2021 20:37

That is classic! You need to remind him of this in years to come. Grin

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 20:41

Oh I will!! 😂

MotionActivatedDog · 18/08/2021 20:42

SpindleWhorl · 18/08/2021 20:43
