New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

Mr Meyer for me. No competition but suspect it’s Mr Hope.

spiderlight · 08/03/2022 21:53

My money's on Elliott - all that talk about false hope, no hope etc. I hope so, anyway. I was dead wrong about last week being the last we'd see of Sacha, Dominic and Jeong-Soo though, so don't listen to me.

Glad Madge kind of redeemed herself.

ChoccyJules · 08/03/2022 22:58

Yes I also thought there was a lot of Hope-dropping tonight!

Henrik though. Will he ever be happy? Sad

MyOtherProfile · 08/03/2022 23:05

This.

And as for HH, I did wonder if they might reunite him with R in the final episode but their goodbyes did seem very final tonight.

Three more episodes. Anyone know what is going to fill the time slot in April?

TrashyPanda · 08/03/2022 23:40

I loved tonight’s episode.
Jac was magnificent (again)
As was Fletch - bless his heart.

Do you think there is any chance of a happy ending for Jac?

I did like the joke about all the other junior docs of the year popping their clogs!

AntonMeyersNo1Fan · 08/03/2022 23:43

I thought that was a lovely touch mentioning all the dead junior doctors. Diggers Sad

I nearly posted earlier that I really hoped they didn’t bring back Smarmy Self but it was obvious really with it being brain stuff.

Oh Jac though Sad

MyOtherProfile · 09/03/2022 05:57

At least Self only made a fleeting visit.

Wouldn't it be lovely if by some magic inconsistent plot they could bring back Arthur and Chantelle as a couple? That would make my day.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 09/03/2022 06:50

With HH though, don't you think he's turned a corner? So although things may not have worked out with R, perhaps he now has opened himself up to love (again)?

Who was Chantelle?

That was funny (in a macabre way!) Especially when they added "and Dr Dunn won it twice".

Do you think there is any chance of a happy ending for Jac?

Absolutely. I do not believe there is any way they will kill her off as the series finale. Elliot (I agree it must be him) will save her.

MyOtherProfile · 09/03/2022 08:00

Who was Chantelle?
The lovely ditsy nurse Diggers was in love with but she just saw him as a friend 😭

SoupDragon · 09/03/2022 08:06

Ah..... I remember now. Thank you :)

I just couldn’t buy HH fancying R. Mostly cos R is an unpleasant prat, but also cos HH has spent years mourning his lost love in Sweden and also loving Sahira from a distance. It’s such an established SL that HH is unlucky in love with ladies that this sudden change from heterosexual just doesn’t ring true. And then there is the whole SA backstory too. We know he was still in turmoil over that, to the extent of cutting himself.
SoupDragon · 09/03/2022 11:47

I agree - it didn't work when they turned Lofty gay and it absolutely didn't work with HH. I don't know why they felt the need to do it on either occasion.

DeckTheHallsWithGin · 09/03/2022 20:59

Everything crossed for Elliott and a dog to come back and save jac.

Optimist1 · 09/03/2022 22:53

That would be wonderful, @DeckTheHallsWithGin !

I just had a thought - do you think they'll get the operation done in the final episode and leave us in the dark about whether it was successful or not?

OP posts:
TrashyPanda · 09/03/2022 23:03

I’d forgotten about Lofty suddenly being gay!
I started watching Classic Holby during 1st lockdown, which was just as Lofty was leaving, and was very confused, as last time I saw him was in Casualty where he was definitely not gay.

TrashyPanda · 09/03/2022 23:04

Leaving us in the lurch about Jac would be cruel and inhumane.
We’d have to protest to the GMC or something.

MyOtherProfile · 10/03/2022 04:05

That's what the Royal did when they had their final episode - left it hanging over whether one of their doctors survived. But I think that's because it was pulled suddenly so they intended to continue the story.

HalleLouja · 10/03/2022 06:20

I did have a thought about who might be coming back, if its not Elliot.

Maybe Mo might come back the actress doesn’t seem to have got a big role since she left. Maybe Mr T can come too. The other options are Connie or Nick Jordan, who both started in Holby.

Maybe they are saving Elliot until the last episode….

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/03/2022 07:05

Mo would be an excellent choice as she was very much in Jac's court wasn't she? She, Libby and Elliott - dream team :-)

When Fletch was talking about "their future plans" to Jac, I got the decided impression that she thought he was talking 'romantic together future' rather than a professional one? Anyone else?

I definitely think that Fletch was telling Jac he loved her and wanted to be with her.
SoupDragon · 10/03/2022 08:19

And then not being gay. Don't forget that. 😂

As they seem to be tying up every loose end imaginable, I don't think they'll do this.

What surgeons does Jaq need? I think she needs a neurosurgeon to deal with the tumour and a cardiologist to do something with the carotid artery (going by what was said this week). As I understand it, she has neither at the moment and hasn't she run out of neurosurgeons to ask? There don't seem to be many of them at Holby. Did Zosia move into neuro?

TrashyPanda · 10/03/2022 09:14

I’m firmly in the Fletch/Jac court.
They both deserve to be happy.
Especially after poor Fletch was with awful Ange.

There's a def vibe. When she said something about trying to make time for them, the look on her face was def "make me team fletch forever and let me help you raise your tribe of fletchlings"
