New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

Yes, poor Kylie.
And why don’t we see more of her and Louis? I like them as a couple.
More than the hastily contrived HH and what’s his name.

Josh was so condescending to Nicki. He and Eli are chauvinistic. Josh comes across as a spoilt child and Eli is horribly domineering.

Cant manage any sympathy for Madge after her whinge about not getting more money. Try living on a pension, dear. And just use the kettle in the staff room for hot drinks.

@WhatICallMyUsername

It does look like Serena and Bernie have gone off into the sunset doesn't it. I find it odd that Bernie would hear her granddaughter is being brought up by someone else and she doesn't follow it up more. Hopefully there's more to come as it wasn't left in a good way with Nicky

I wasn't sure if the point of Kylie's storyline last night. There seems to be loose ends to tie up and they are adding unnecessary stuff in

As soon as S&B said their wedding had been postponed I said to DH they'll be getting married in the gardens by the end then. Maybe it would have happened if they'd still had an hour to fill?!

I am not sure I care enough about the Madge storyline. I think it's because she hasn't been in it very long. I am thinking maybe her son being abusive rather than the obvious husband route

The Nicky storyline was a bit odd as well. Was she supposed to just let the patient die on the table when he went into VF? And why was the Director of Nursing at the meeting to decide the course of action? And Nicky wasn't even allowed to speak

I think after this little rant I won't be sorry when it's over, a lot annoyed me about last nights if you can't tell

Grin

It wouldn't make any sense if Bernie (and Serena) found out about Juliette and just said "oh ok!" They've both lost a child, are relatively young and fit and about to get married so I would have thought they'd want to raise Juliette. Far more likely though that they'll recognise Nicky needs help and take both of them to live with them. At the moment Holby is doing a horrifically bad job of recognising and supporting mental health issues, which is weird.

Except for Josh, who got a round of applause at his group for being a man. (Yes, I know that men are less likely to admit to having eating disorders, but it seemed peculiar to imply that he was braver than anyone else there, or that he had struggled more. Quite divisive, in fact)

WhatICallMyUsername · 09/02/2022 17:53

That's what I mean @LazySaturday, it felt like that's the last we'll see of them although I guess Nicky could say she's spoken to them and go off to live with them and take Juliette. I did think she was going to grab that bag when Jac kicked her out of the office

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 09/02/2022 17:58

Speaking of Josh, in a scene last night didn't he decline a call from a Claudia (could have got the name wrong?) and looked very furtive? Was that from the potential help-group stalker?

I think the scriptwriters are quite seriously losing (track of) the plot.

TrashyPanda · 10/02/2022 08:34

Is it all going to end with the marriage of Ange and Josh?

(Two characters nobody cares much about)

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/02/2022 09:28

I really hope not @TrashyPanda.

TrashyPanda · 10/02/2022 11:21

I wonder if Casualty will last much longer?

I feel much more engaged with the Holby characters.

SleepingStandingUp · 10/02/2022 14:26

If there is to be a xwedding, I vote
Cured Jac and Fletch or
SACHA AND MAX!

TrashyPanda · 10/02/2022 19:08

Sacha is another one who deserves to be happy.
Was never wholly convinced about him and Chrissie, but Essie? What did he see in her? Probably the most boring character ever. We are watching classic Holby and she is thankfully away somewhere at the moment. Max would spice up his life!

SleepingStandingUp · 10/02/2022 19:45

T
I thought after their accidental date it might go somewhere. Usually they'd get drunk and wake up together but that can't happen. I think they'd be good ying and yang

spiderlight · 16/02/2022 09:33

HH's sweet little smile at the end last night was lovely. Shame it's only going to last for about thirty seconds until Russell finds out that he knew about Billie's baby!

BackInBlackAgain · 16/02/2022 10:14

I doubt Cameron is on Juliets birth certificate so Bernie would find it hard to get access or follow up where the baby has gone as technically she is nobody to the baby (due to her son not being on the BC)

I actually hope Eli and Amelia get to keep Juliet, Amelia seems to genuinely love her. But this is Holby, nobody can be happy for more than 2 episodes.

spiderlight · 16/02/2022 10:55

MASSIVE SPOILERS in this article for next week's episode, but I was right a few weeks back when I suggested that Juliet was Nicky/Belinda Owusu's real-life daughter Grin

Optimist1 · 16/02/2022 11:54

Thanks for the link, @spiderlight. Interesting!

TrashyPanda · 22/02/2022 22:35

Oh Jac!
My heart broke several times during this ep.
Rosie was magnificent.
So glad that Nicki is back with Juliet. The baby’s face when she bent over the pushchair was so sweet.
Ange showing she is Holby’s answer to Sherlock. I was waiting for Madge to abduct her and tie her up in the basement.

Eli really hates Nicki. His face when he talks to her could turn milk sour. She needs to watch her back.

Not buying that Henrik fancies Billies dad.

WhatICallMyUsername · 22/02/2022 23:21

Loved the bit with Billie embarrassing Henrik Hannssen before she'd let him examine her. Totally obvious her dad was going to be pissed off he knew though

When Ange realised what Madge was up to I was getting pissed off she didn't tell anyone then when she did made it TOTALLY obvious she was on to her!

Glad Nicki is back with Juliet. Only 5 more episodes to go, next episode on Monday for anyone who missed it Grin

spiderlight · 22/02/2022 23:22

How gorgeous is Juliet's smile?? She was just adorable at the end of tonight's episode. Poor Amelia though.

How many left now? There can't be many :(

WhatICallMyUsername · 22/02/2022 23:28

@spiderlight 5, it says it in my post above yours Grin

spiderlight · 22/02/2022 23:48

Sorry - missed that! It's going to be so weird when it ends. Even when it's been terrible, I've always watched it. When I was in labour with my DS on a Tuesday, I asked the midwife what time it was and she said it was about 8.54, and I went 'BUT I'M MISSING HOLBY!!' 🤣

HalleLouja · 23/02/2022 04:21

Rosie and Belinda were amazing, it made me a bit teary. I am just worried that Amelia will go full psycho.

In other news I posted on the spoiler thread.

MyOtherProfile · 23/02/2022 05:39

Just responded on the spoilers thread and it made me think about an old episode. I wonder if anyone remembers it.

It was with Michael Spence and a teenage boy who was terminally ill but his parents kept not coming to see him as they were busy with his younger siblings. He was talking to MS about Avalon (I think) and drew a picture about dying but he couldn't remember one part.

Eventually MS was with him when he died and after he picked up his sketch book and the boy had finished the drawing with a boat to take him to Avalon.

The episode ended with the boy's mum coming in too late and coming his hair or something once he had died.

It was such a touching episode. Anyone remember it?

WhatICallMyUsername · 23/02/2022 07:47

@MyOtherProfile erm no but you've kind of given away the spoiler Grin

Doesn't bother me but I know how some are on MN about spoilers Hmm

MyOtherProfile · 23/02/2022 08:02

Does it really count as a spoiler when it aired years ago? We talk about things that have already aired don't we?

SoupDragon · 23/02/2022 08:04

But you've kind of implied that something similar is going to happen.
