Why would Canada send Serena back to Gilead? They want to prosecute her for war crimes.

Is there any chance that they are pretending Serena is pregnant in order to get her to tell them everything so they can prosecute properly?

It must have been really hard seeing Moira and Luke co parenting so well together. Working as a team and saying 'I love you' to each other more than once.

When June was captured they didn't get on, and now she sees them as a functioning family unit. I wonder if the teal clothes are part of her asserting her place as 'wife'.

I was thinking about Serena's clothes too and everything being beige or white, essentially colourless. She has a uniform of sorts still but she's lost her place, her role, her colour.

I can't believe that Tuello allowed their important asset, with so much intelligence on Gilead (June) to have an unsupervised one-to-one meeting with the person they are trying to build a case against and prosecute (Serena).

I know it made good telly, with June finally able to tell Serena exactly what she thinks of her, but it really didn't ring true for me.

I’m watching and reading now but I notice people saying it was Emily’s wife who carried Oliver. I thought it was Emily who carried him as that is how she became a hand maid by having a living healthy baby. Oliver then has dual heritage and was able to go to Canada leaving Emily behind

Yes I thought Emily's wife was the biological mother and that's why she was allowed to take Oliver. I think if he was biologically Emily's they would have kept him and sent him to with a Commander family.

Yes I think it represented the power shift between the two women.

I enjoyed tonights episode, apart from the sex scene, which was awful.

I loved how it was Emily who handed Nicole back to June, when the last time June held Nichole she handed her to Emily to escape to Canada. I missed Nick being on the board though, I'm interested to see how the next three episodes go.

@SkepticalCat I thought that too - but would expect there to be CCTV everywhere.

The cell that Serena is kept in looks luxurious but it's very much a guided cage. She is often standing gazing out of the window.

I think serena might have noticed her periods, not to mention she has a bump and will feel kicking.

I don't agree with people who keep saying Tuello has a thing for Serena/possible that Tuello slept with her. I think Tuello always saw her for what she is, the way he treats her reminds me of police interviews I've seen on YouTube. It's a very common tactic, clearly it worked as it made Serena lead Fred over the border and now they're both locked up and likely going to get done as war criminals. Tuello is just doing the job he is trained to do.

I also don’t think for a minute that Serena was sincere when she was grovelling to June. If she can fuck her over she’ll do it in a heartbeat.

It's really jarring to hear Serena and all her 'religious speak' now. It's quite scary how used I got to hearing it. It seemed 'normal'.

When you hear it now it sounds quaint, old fashioned and harmless. Which is likely how the Canadians hear it.

There was a line in June’s monologue about serena where she said something like “she’ll do whatever it takes to get what she wants/needs” and I thought that means June is playing along with Luke, Moira, tuello etc to get what she needs- which I think means back to Gilead for Hannah and nick.

I agree. I really felt she was talking about herself, not Serena. Very dark ending.

@YoutubeZoom I thought exactly the same! This was why I came onto the thread this morning to see if others thought the same. June was definitely talking about herself....& I feel like the warning to run was to Luke.

Totally. I thought that was entirely fake including the crying when June told her her baby will die.

She needs June not to testify against them. It's all manipulation.

Emily definitely carried Oliver - they asked her at the airport and that’s what sealed her fate as a handmaid.

The sex scene was difficult to watch - I think the comment Moira made about how Gilead made them all messed up about sex hit home and she didn’t want Gilead to have that power over her, she wanted to regain control.

Hmm I'm not convinced about Tuello. I think he might not be quite as much on June's side as he should be.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a horrible feeling the Waterfords are somehow going to wriggle free. Question is will they be able to take baby Waterford with them?

Could there be an exchange for Hannah (US Citizen) with baby Waterford (a true child of Gilead) in the future?
