New thread for inevitable disappointment when they leave the recoupling for Sunday.

Does anyone wonder if there could be the first Trans contestant this year? Talk of diversity, first disability...somebody 'joked' about it on FB and it's got me thinking hmm

Did you ever watch There's something about Miriam? Shock

Winemewhynot · 19/07/2021 08:27

I don’t agree with the racist undercurrents, I think Danny would approach the situation with any of the boys as he did Aaron, he was embarrassed and trying to save face. He’s made multiple comments about being afraid of being mugged off, and then that comment to Lucinda about cracking on elsewhere if she is, I think he’s quite insecure deep down!

Bedsheets4knickers · 19/07/2021 08:32

Theirs quite abit about Danny in the press today & Twitter so hopefully the LI producers will pull him for a "chat".

KarenofSparta · 19/07/2021 08:38

In reference to pps' posts - if it was my comment they meant (might not have been, I know) - the one about not leaving Danny near any knives was partially tongue-in-cheek but mainly about him showing such controlling behaviour so early on. I didn't mention his appearance once- if that's what people took from it then that says more about them than me.

Ooh spill the dirt!
happilybemused · 19/07/2021 08:46

@Bedsheets4knickers the allegations about Danny are quite shocking if true. I would hope the production team wouldn't have cast him if they were.

FightingtheFoo · 19/07/2021 08:51

I just had a Google and can't see anything about Danny in the press today? All the articles are from a few days ago.

The thing is, as pp said, how do we know he wouldn't have reacted exactly the same (talking about disrespect etc) if it had been Liam or Jake or someone? So why is his reaction about race? And whichever way you cut it, it was disrespectful for another man to move in on Lucinda in front of Danny on the very night he'd chosen her.

She clearly doesn't fancy any of them.

Off topic, sometimes she looks exactly like a Bratz doll. It's uncanny.

FightingtheFoo · 19/07/2021 08:52

Btw I will say that the tattoos+ buzz cut really do make Danny look like a Neo Nazi, which doesn't help him.

Bedsheets4knickers · 19/07/2021 08:58

Let's see how this week pans out but i do hope they have a little word because if it's just a case that he's gone In a little bit heavy handed he will have to deal with the aftermath once he's out of the villa .

HamsterHelp · 19/07/2021 08:59

Oh please. In real life maybe. It’s an artificial game show. This is literally the game.

happilybemused · 19/07/2021 09:03

Just checked and yes the allegations were on Friday. It was a reply to a Daily Mail article on Twitter. It has been deleted which leads me to believe it may not be true.

The latest, less controversial allegations are that he has a girlfriend IRL who has allegedly turned up in Majorca.

Mind you, Lucinda has also apparently got a footballer boyfriend IRL.

Not that they are all in it for a Pretty Little Thing clothing collaboration Hmm

Bluntness100 · 19/07/2021 09:05

Suspect the producers will have a word with Danny to try to keep a lid on it. Aaron is pushing his buttons, but Danny must know that just because he recoupled with Lucinda doesn’t mean she’s now his and no one can go near. If Lucinda doesn’t pick him I suspect his time in the villa is short.

PringlePonders · 19/07/2021 09:12

Lucinda was apparently cabin crew for BA.

I would hope therefore that her voice is an act. Otherwise I'm unlikely to fly BA again GrinWink

Chicchicchicchiclana · 19/07/2021 09:22

No, they have their little conventions and courtesies in there.

Aaron ignored those and what really got my about it was his sheer arrogance. He actually expected Lucinda to kiss him (having never kissed him before). Not only that, he didn't ask her to go somewhere private either. He was being a provocative knob.

I liked him the best at first ... it's funny how you can go off people when you get to know them a bit better. His treatment of Sharon was very unpleasant too - "I don't want this to continue" because 2 girls he fancied had come into the villa and been here about 5 minutes, and then whaddya know! when they don't show any interest in him - straight back to Sharon like a boomerang.

JacquelineCarlyle · 19/07/2021 09:36

I completely agree @Chicchicchicchiclana

TheRebelle · 19/07/2021 09:37

@happilybemused

There is something a bit uncomfortable about Danny. He gives me negative vibes. His emotional blackmail to Lucinda was verging on threatening.

Hugo is a fish out of water. He reminds me of almost every boy I was at university with. He doesn't find girls who have 'work' done attractive so that rules out most of the contestants. The only girl who is even vaguely his type would be Millie. Not sure why he is there. Chuggs would have been the same.

Faye reminds me of Shaughna in that she's a bit abrasive and loud but is covering up her insecurities by doing so. She seems to have a good heart and is a loyal friend. I suspect Casa Amor will not end well for her.

I really need to stop overthinking this and get a life

I just watched the unseen bits and it seemed to me that Hugo is tolerated by the other boys but he’s definitely not “one of them”
BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 19/07/2021 09:39

I think Danny was a bit aggressive in the way he spoke to Aaron. He barely let him speak. But would anyone have thought him racist if not for the n word story (I think that's what it was about?) in the press?

Aaron was quite good about it. I don't think he did anything wrong in the context of the game except trying to kiss Lucinda was weird.

I think Sharon needed to go.

blossomhillx · 19/07/2021 10:05

Lucindas conversation with Danny about Aaron is the most immature and cringe worthy thing I have seen on love island Blush she clearly loves all the drama it's embarrassing

Danny is horrendous how possessive and creepy

PumpkinKlNG · 19/07/2021 10:30

I don’t know why they put such young people in Lucinda is far too young for love island, she’s so immature it’s crazy, I mean I read that they asked Kerry Katona’s daughter to appear on the show, she’s only 18!! At least she seems sensible though as she declined (bet Kerry was devastated 😬)

UnrivaledJoyofStarGazing · 19/07/2021 10:37

Thing is Danny knows that the public know about his offensive tweet - he has had to apologise for that.

In the circumstances I am surprised that he has started any beef with Aaron. He should be hyper vigilant that people will be scrutinising his behaviour for racist undertones.

This makes me think he has very poor impulse control at best.

SummaLuvin · 19/07/2021 10:41

Does Danny not realise that Lucinda and Aaron were cracking on before he even entered the villa? So if anything he was the one who stepped on Aarons toes. He got the opportunity to couple up first, before Aaron could, and Lucinda gets no say in it. Why does he expect they should just stop seeing if there is something there between them, they haven't said marriage vows?

MotherofKitties · 19/07/2021 10:43

Just caught up on last night. Finally, it’s got interesting!

Hugo was furious with AJ picking him, I think because he knew that meant Sharron was going home. Don't think he's overly bothered about AJ though, they don't come across like a 'natural' coupling.

Aaron clearly wasn’t impressed with Danny picking Lucinda, and was trying to mark his territory with trying to kiss her which she wasn’t ready for. Danny has got so defensive already, and I agree with the PP that it’s obvious Aaron has been in many situations where he’s had to diffuse the atmosphere like he did with Danny; be calm, back down, try to take the heat out of the situation. And I kind of get where Danny was coming from, but that whole discussion made me sad and a bit angry - Lucinda, however young she may be, is her own person and not anybodies property - she can choose for herself! They were both talking about her like she was their property and it jarred with me. I get the impression Danny isn’t going to cope well with the pressure either, he was looking furious and uncomfortable multiple times there…

First snapshot of tonight’s episode looks interesting; looks like it’s about to kick off with several people…
