know Fiz said they should sort out joint custody, but unless there’s going to be a battle, I don’t see any reason to kill off Kirsty. Surely the only point is that it makes it into a straight battle between Fiz and Tyrone, with no possibility of the biological mother making an 11th-hour appearance. Maybe they asked Natalie Gumede back and she turned them down?

They needed a story line to draw Fizz and Ty back together.
Hes realising that she is supportive and understands him and there have been several occasions where Alina has done something he isnt happy about but he backs down to keep her happy.
Fizz and Ty will always be bonded over "The Girls"

It did make me chuckle wryly when Alina was looking grim and he mentioned it.

Poor Gail she should have kept all cash she inherited and gone back to Thailand and spent her retirement on the beach. Instead she used it all on house and everyone’s living with her and expecting maid and nanny on call.

Gail should sell the house and buy the pub, i reckon she could morph into Mrs Walker no problem. Nice to see a good snog on the street again, some things just don't work from 6 feet away.

The only way Fiz and Tyrone can get back together would be if Alina isn't really pregnant, or it's not his! But that would just be a repeat of the Molly storyline I suppose.

Yes, she did. From memory, he either spilled the mixture all over it or left it too close to the hob and set it on fire - either way, it got destroyed. I can’t remember how the story was resolved though. Maybe it IS just a big standard recipe now, and that’s why anyone can make it… but I assumed that was a throwaway line to cover the writers in case anyone remembered that Sean got the sack for a while during the homelessness storyline, yet the hotpot kept flowing.

I think the secret ingredient was some Newton and Ridley's (want to say stout but not sure). The written recipe got ruined but someone knew it and was able to shed light on the mystery. It's all a bit vague in my mind
