Hi all,

This is @StillCoughingandLaughing. My account got deleted because someone accused me of racism and, even though her accusations were removed, the fact that I fought back was apparently worse than making false allegations in the first place. Hence no more account.

I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed talking Corrie with you all Smile I’m sorry that it’s over. All the best to anyone who sees this before it’s deleted x

I'm another one who wondered how the Bailey's house had suddenly acquired a stately home height window and ceiling.

The houses and interiors in Corrie are endlessly fascinating, where are all the tellys?

PennyRoyal · 27/07/2021 10:52

All the set interiors have expanded somewhat since Covid. I guess this is to allow social distancing. The gaps between sofas, chairs, kitchens is huge now!

Deadringer · 27/07/2021 10:53

where are all the tellys they are in the Corrie room of requirement, like cars and children they appear when needed.

WomanStanleyWoman · 27/07/2021 11:24

Glory has a mystery illness that can only be treated in America.

GrinGrin In soapland, literally anything can be cured in America. I’m amazed everyone doesn’t live to 150 there!

Also, this week in Classic Corrie it’s been made very clear that Rita’s and Alec’s flats only have one bedroom - yet in modern times, Rita has had Tina, Gemma, Paul, Jenny and Sharon living with her at various points, while Brian and Cathy (now living in Alec’s old flat) have Alex living with them.

Just caught up. Agree about Hope what self respecting 11y old calls her dad daddy? If I was Alina I would be very afraid though she probably doesn’t know Hope had go off to reform school or whatever it was for starting fires at what knot.

The Racism thing is depressing but I guess that is the point. can’t believe he would spent it on car not a house deposit when he seems so very sensible! Well at least compared to his brother.

Was Nina meant to be clinical depressed at the factory? She couldn’t have been more miserable if she tried.

CiaoForNiao · 27/07/2021 19:44

My 16 and 14 year olds still call me Mummy Grin

MotionActivatedDog · 27/07/2021 19:45

My parents are still mummy and daddy Grin very normal where I am.

eddiemairswife · 27/07/2021 19:56

The Queen called her mother 'Mummy'.

SophieB100 · 28/07/2021 06:47

The Racism storyline was done well on EastEnders - can't see Corrie matching it tbh.
Hope is going to do something bad to Alina.
I love the ever expanding houses - they all live in a Tardis! Classic Corrie - yes - Alex and Rita had a doorway knocked through - loved it! If anyone else watches Classic - you know that grotty flat that Sally and wicked Greg share - where is that? Is it still in the Street?
The girl in prison, can't remember her name, the one with the dodgy mum - her prison room was a bit lush...better than some of the flats.

Where's Peter? I need my Peter fix!

MotionActivatedDog · 28/07/2021 08:42

I don’t know whose house the baileys live in but I’m almost certain all those terraced houses are 2 bedroom. So they have six adults and a baby in a 2 bed terrace? And James- with his £30K decides to buy a flash car instead of, I dunno, renting a flat with his boyfriend?

eddiemairswife · 28/07/2021 10:07

According to Wikipedia the houses originally had 3 bedrooms and a lavatory in the yard, but over the years most of them converted the 3rd bedroom into a bathroom.

Beeinalily · 28/07/2021 10:58

So, Craig is the ONLY policeman in the area until they want a racism storyline? Clumsy C Street, very clumsy.

Greg and Sally’s flat is now Daniel and Paul’s flat - considerably less grotty, and another one with a mystery extra bedroom!

Totally ridiculous isn't it.

eggandonion · 28/07/2021 12:32

Curly had a loft conversion, and maybe Tyrone and Fizz?

MotionActivatedDog · 28/07/2021 12:49

Well John stape lived in Fizz’s loft but I don’t think he converted it while he was up there Grin

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 28/07/2021 12:58

Aren’t there ‘front rooms’ turned into bedrooms in some of the houses? So in Eileen’s Sean used to live in one, and I think Blanche had the one in Ken’s??

MotionActivatedDog · 28/07/2021 13:10

Yes I think Steve and Tracy sleep in the front room now. Or maybe Amy?

MotionActivatedDog · 28/07/2021 13:11

I feel like we need to send a housing officer round to weather field and redistribute all the properties. There must be some flats in Victoria court sitting empty. Who has Michele and Roberts old flat?

TheVolturi · 28/07/2021 13:24

Yep the front rooms are often used as bedrooms in terraced houses where space is needed. We never ever actually see a front room in corrie do we, only ever the back room that leads to the kitchen! When we had a terraced house or front room was our living and the back room was our dining room.

MotionActivatedDog · 28/07/2021 13:26

Something that confused me about eileens was when Todd returned home she had him sleeping on the sofa. I know Sean was in the spare room upstairs but who was in her front room? Why couldn’t Todd sleep there?

Akire · 28/07/2021 13:37

Mary is also the lodger unless is a third tiny box room that’s to small for Todd to use as only fits child bed?

desperatehousewife21 · 28/07/2021 13:41

They did a racism storyline with the Baileys not long after they moved in. It’s like they need to tick the box to say they’ve covered it for the year. Ugh why do I still watch this shite??

MotionActivatedDog · 28/07/2021 13:45

Ahh I’d forgotten about Mary!!
