Couldn't see a thread yet.. maybe it's too early.. but needed to talk to people about Strictly with the news today that Zoe Ball and Ian Waite are leaving ITT!

Will Rylan take over full time? Who will become the resident dance expert?

Also, has anyone else seen the clips of AJ and Curtis on Hollyoaks? Grin I do wonder if he regrets quitting Strictly.. I'm
not sure acting is his forte.

If they're announcing people now, presumably no Olympians will be on.
Some Olympians have already started flying home though, I know Helen Glover (?) had returned home the other day.

I really really hope they have Olympians - would love all of them - Emily, Helen, Max, Adam, Tom, Charlotte etc etc - wish they'd do an Olympics special as I'd imagine it would be super competitive with varying degrees of dance talent, but a super high worth ethic!

They could always patch in the Olympians from Japan I suppose? But it's only on until the weekend, and they're all leaving ass soon as they've competed due to covid, so they'll probably all be back before the announcements are finished.

Paralympians could be trickier, because they're not competing until the very end of August.

Just to assure you I was being deadly serious about the knitted costume week if Tom Daley is a contestant, him knitting at the olympics has been one of my favourite things. No mocking here! I'm just jealous I can't knit as well as him, I looked at his page for his makes on Instagram and some of them are amazing! Grin

Not exactly thrilled with the line-up so far. Strictly seems to be a show whose celebrity fans are far more famous than those who end up dancing. It's like the celebrity bookers have given up. John Whaite seems nice enough, but a minor celebrity chef who won the Bake-Off years ago isn't really cutting it. I was also think the first male-male partnership needed to be with someone more dynamic and used to performing to give it more chance of taking off.

@ppeatfruit Tom Fletcher is in McFly, his wife Gi Fletcher won I'm A Celeb last year and his band mate Harry Judd won Strictly in 2011. So I think he'll want to take it seriously and be in it to win it, he's very musical so I think he'll be good.

I think he'll probably get Diane, but I could be wrong.. I hope he gets Oti.

coveting Thanks , he seemed\looked very young on the One Show last night to be in Mcfly (I do remember them mentioning Harry Judd now), HE was fab on Strictly, tbh he got me into the show. The hysterical audience was putting me off before!

Ooohhh I like John Waite from GBBO. He's quite often on that lunchtime show with Steph McGovern on channel 4 these days
