Is back tomorrow on BBC 2 at 9.30PM. Really looking forward to its return and hope it’ll be better than series 5 which was my least favourite so far.

@DurhamDurham

I love Inside Number 9 but didn't really enjoy the first episode of this series. It all seemed a bit smug and self satisfied.

My favourite episode ever was Bernie Winters Dressing Room. I've watched it so many times and it still makes me cry. I lost my brother to alcoholism so I expect that has something to do with it.

I'll keep watching as I know it'll be a good series overall.

Me too - that was stunning.
DurhamDurham · 10/06/2021 06:43

@Whatwouldrowando that cheesy double act dance at the end gets me every time, so moving and so clever.

MrsMercury · 10/06/2021 07:49

@Whatwouldrowando thats my favourite episode aswell i always tear up at it. my favourite from this series was this weeks episode how do you plead.

sociallydistained · 10/06/2021 07:54

I re-watched Bernie Winters the other day and Tom and Gerri (the one with Migg the tramp) both great ones in their own way!

Ah Tom and Gerri is another of my favourite episodes Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/06/2021 17:39

Ooh I re-watched "Empty Orchestra" and "12 Days of Christine"

I think they're my favourite anytime but some I have to be in the right mood for .
I love how Steve Pemberton can be so adorable in some (like "Loves Great Advenrure" ) and so repulsive in others !

He did indeed, to become a hotshot lawyer
Clawdy · 14/06/2021 23:06

Strange, sad finale.

Furrybootsyecomfy · 14/06/2021 23:16

I think I liked that one - I was genuinely shocked at bits and sad at the end.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2021 01:07

@Whylurkwhenicanjoinin. Thanks

Most i understand but that one I didn’t really

LunaNorth · 15/06/2021 08:00

It was a bit of a clunky plot twist, I thought.

sociallydistained · 15/06/2021 09:08

I was a bit wtf but on reflection I’m pretty amazed by that episode.

Did anyone notice the boy drinking mineral water when it was clearly alcoholic was Jesus turning water into wine... and I guess the spread (ocado lol) was turning their mess of food into a “feed the 5000” thing.

Also found it interesting two of them basically molested him.

MrsMercury · 15/06/2021 10:17

@sociallydistained i think its defonatly one for a second watch. i didnt see that coming but when he came in all in white i thought he looks like jesus but didnt think anything of it since last week's was about the devil.
what did u make of the ending when she disappeared with him did she die?.
also what was the germany reference was that some biblical reference im missing.
all in all it was a great episode and as always very cleverly written and acted.

sociallydistained · 15/06/2021 20:24

I think on subsequent viewings we’d pick up more on the commentary about Xenophobia/prejudice and stuff. It seemed a lot was going on but I didn’t quite unpack it all.

I think the ending was the fact she repented for her sins whereas the others thought they did the right thing and that they’d done nothing wrong. I think the ending was her being saved and forgiven. I’m not sure where it went after that but I guess the others are going down in the elevator to hell!

HappyHappyHippocampus · 15/06/2021 22:00

I love Inside Number 9 but haven’t been in to this series. It just doesn’t feel as clever.

Just watched last nights and I’m so confused. I really feel like they’re going hell for leather on the WTF and not much else this time around.

desperatehousewife21 · 16/06/2021 06:22

I haven’t thought this series was as clever either, the twists are almost groan-worthy. Whereas in previous series they’re really well done.
Nothing to do with the actors involved, they’re all very good, it’s the writing I think.

Black mirror went the same though, the last series was dire. It’s like they’ve run out of genuinely clever ideas and are just going over the top or too try hard/ wacky.

DurhamDurham · 16/06/2021 08:31

I really didn't enjoy the latest episode, it took me half the show to work out who was related to who. Maybe I was just tired after a long hot day at work Grin

Arcadia · 16/06/2021 09:33

We didn't really 'get' this episode either. Didn't understand it really.
They seem too predictable now or maybe I've just tuned into their way of thinking.

FlorrieLindley · 17/06/2021 11:09

I love the show, but was bitterly disappointed with the last episode. I thought it was muddled, ill-thought out and just kind of thrown together. Pemberton and Sheersmith are usually fantastic writers, but something was off about this one.
I also thought that the masturbation scene was unnecessary.
A rare failure.
