I think many of us assumed ages ago the quads would either be adopted or fostered out, like Abi's littlest, or Gemma would win the lottery and piss off to Didsbury with a fleet of nannies.

But no. The quads are invisible. How very realistic.

Lemonelderflower · 08/05/2021 21:22

Watching Classic Corrie it’s really noticeable how much more evident children are to the street. Not in the sense they are in any big storylines like Oliver or Hope but just there: shopping with mum, watching TV in the lounge, playing in the garden. So much more realistic.

woodhill · 08/05/2021 21:35

Now they are permanently upstairs with no noise emulating

Housewife2010 · 08/05/2021 22:39

Isn't the lack of children now, due to Covid? Pre Covid the Platts children were often in the sitting room and Hope, Ruby and Jack were more present. Liam was still an occasional presence.

@UhtredRagnarson

Hate us? They love us- we write the stories for them. All we need to do is say a name and the character appeared. Someone upthread mentioned grace and Michael. They’ll be in Monday’s show, I bet.
Ssshhhhh they must not be named EVER You need to wash your mouth out with carbolic soap this instance, cross your fingers and hope they haven't seen it I may even report your post for being inappropriate and in bad taste😁😁😁

Can't help but feel a bit sorry for poor old Kev! He never gets his happy ever after either does he.

He's tried with a few women now!

I wonder how Abby will cope and real with Seb's death? I hope she doesn't go back to the drugs and the story shows how friends/family can come together to support her. Hopefully Kevin will be able to help her and their relationship survive. Also, if the police don't track those yobs down, Abby and Roy will be a force to reckon with!

Roussette · 09/05/2021 10:06

Yes. Roy with his pragmatic approach calming it down but dissecting the facts to find out what happened And Abi who will give them all a knuckle sandwich whilst she waits for Roy's facts!

SophieB100 · 09/05/2021 10:11

On a positive note, to cheer us all up, we haven't had Peter's blanket of doom for a couple of episodes. Silver lining, and all that Grin

😂

UhtredRagnarson · 09/05/2021 10:20

I’m just imagining Roy and Abby sitting at a table in the cafe while Roy calmly presents his findings to reveal who the culprits are and then says “go get ‘em Abby”, before letting her off her leash. Grin

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 09/05/2021 13:48

With Abi looking so glam lately, the age gap between her and Kev seems wider than usual.

Viviennemary · 09/05/2021 13:58

Tracey Barlow disappeared upstairs for years to play her tapes and finally came down a different person. Lucky they don't live in bungalows.

Roussette · 09/05/2021 14:18

🤣😂🤣

New face Tracy!

EachandEveryone · 09/05/2021 15:09

I didnt realise that Tracey Bennett is such an accomplished musical star. Shes won two Oliviers and has had a one woman sure playing Judi Garland on Broadway.

Bloody hell. And Corrie have her playing a second-rate spy for a third-rate drug dealer? Bit of a waste.
eggandonion · 09/05/2021 15:26

I wonder if she's enjoying the ridiculous storylines. I suppose with theatre closed, why not!
The stupidity of the drug story is the current light relief, I'm dreading watching tomorrow Sad

EachandEveryone · 09/05/2021 15:41

www.theguardian.com/stage/2012/apr/04/end-rainbow-broadway i wonder if shes a proper luvvie in real life like Elaine Paige 😃

Clawdy · 09/05/2021 16:16

I saw Tracie B in "Carousel" on stage years ago and she was brilliant. But I really don't like her over-the-top acting in Corrie, I find her so irritating.

EdwinPootsLovesArchaeology · 09/05/2021 16:23

You've all solved the puzzle. Tracie-as-Sharon doesn't know how to turn off the luvvie any more.

eddiemairswife · 09/05/2021 16:34

I think there are some actors who find it difficult to shift between acting on stage and acting on TV.

EdwinPootsLovesArchaeology · 09/05/2021 16:54

@eddiemairswife

That's true I think, especially when of necessity Tracie B now has to do so many outdoor and distanced scenes.
EachandEveryone · 09/05/2021 17:33

Oh I wish they would have a cabaret night in the Rovers but they will have to wait until Maureen Lipman comes back 😀

eddiemairswife · 09/05/2021 18:05

I suppose we'll have the funeral next. Conducted by Billy? Did Oliver have a funeral?
