Oliver had a celebration thing in the gardens as Leanne didn't want a funeral due to that meaning that Oliver had died or something stupid like that

Honeyroar · 09/05/2021 20:53

In reality Seb would have loads of friends that would want to say goodbye, but as someone previously said, Seb didn’t seem to have any friends.

eddiemairswife · 10/05/2021 10:33

But surely Oliver's body wasn't buried or cremated in the gardens, so I was wondering what had happened to it.

eggandonion · 10/05/2021 10:36

I'm sure Billy and George? The undertaker, would have made sure Oliver's remains were buried or cremated.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 10/05/2021 11:27

Yes, I assume he was cremated but it's just the way that Leanne went on about it not being a funeral that annoyed me

Eh? Not clicking on that

StillCoughingandLaughing · 10/05/2021 11:35

Why she thought we’d want to see pictures of a damp cat is anyone’s guess...

Just be grateful Leanne hasn't had an ashes scattering. At least they know where the quicksand is if they go to the beach. (It was a difficult storyline, it just didn't work. And that's a shame, parents of children with life limiting conditions deserved better).

TigerTulip · 10/05/2021 12:48

I think it is quite in keeping with the character that Seb didn't have a circle of mates.
He grew up in a home which was not conducive to play dates or inviting friends round after school or joining after school clubs. A walk home from school would involve wondering what state he would find his mother in, would any of her dealers or hangers-on be lurking around the house, what state would be house be in, would she have sold the sofa/telly for her next fix, would he have to jump in to ensure the safety and well-being of his younger siblings. At school he would have felt alienated from his classmates with more stable home lives, and majority of those who were aware of his circumstances would have steered well clear. There are probably kids just like him in many of our own children's schools. I can look back at my class photo from 1974 and see that child sitting along the row from me. I wonder what happened to him after primary.
I had been enjoying the re-emergence of Seb and was looking forward to his relationship with Nina, she is a very level headed person and would have offered him the stability needed to move on and up.
As Roy says, life spins on a sixpence.

ajandjjmum · 10/05/2021 14:54

That's a good analysis Tiger - and now I realise that the Seb and Nina relationship (which I had always thought a little odd and fast) would make perfect sense. They were both different, and it could have worked so well.

Funny that it wasn't dragged out like most of the storylines, and in my opinion, was much more effective because of it. I thought Fridays episodes were very moving.

Roussette · 10/05/2021 16:02

Nina the actress was on This Morning today, she sounded lovely but the phone went so missed most of it
Just as well cos of spoilers

mummyof4kids · 10/05/2021 19:29

Looking forward to tonight's episode, I think the actress who plays Abi was fantastic on Friday nights episode

Roussette · 10/05/2021 19:35

Well... it was good to see Corey shocked. Not shocked in the right way of course.
But shocked because he realises he's in deep shit.

If Asha goes along with this, she is awful

Honeyroar · 10/05/2021 19:38

She looked like she was going to.

Honeyroar · 10/05/2021 19:39

On a lighter note, I’m glad that Summer keeps wearing the pink coat. At least I know who she is now.

Honeyroar · 10/05/2021 19:40

The guy playing Corey is really good.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 10/05/2021 19:40

"I feel the need to pray"
Gosh. What a novel thing for a Vicar Grin

strugglingwithlife · 10/05/2021 19:45

I hope Amy tells the truth but I get the feeling Asha will convince her to lie.
Kelly and Corey are vile

PrincessScarlett · 10/05/2021 19:46

Oh Asha, wake up girl!!

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 10/05/2021 19:49

Well done Amy!

Serpenta · 10/05/2021 19:50

Kelly is going to unravel

Pebbledashery · 10/05/2021 19:51

Kelly is cracking...

Honeyroar · 10/05/2021 19:51

Come on Amy. Release your inner Tracey!

Well done Summer. Start the ball rolling.

Roussette · 10/05/2021 19:54

Good grief.... Alina is an awful actor.
