So another itv drama. I liked too close , the drowning one and few others

On every night this week

When primary school teacher Gemma goes missing in Manchester , surveillance officers martin and Stella are tasked with observing the prime suspect , Gemma boyfriend Greg

I’m guessing it’s too obvious to be the bf so if she is dead /not found it’s not him

But blondes has known to be wrong 😂

I'm now finding Zoe's wide-eyed face really annoying.

Right what’s the confusion

Seems you're confused too 😆😆 I don't think the affair was 12 years ago??[/quote]
I work nights

I’m allowed to be confused @RevolvingPivot 😂

Yikes. That Guardian article. Part of me hopes it’s not true - but 20 women? And presumably backed by a lot of research before going to print. And such that BAFTA saw fit to suspend him. (Yet he received a very prestigious award from them only a few weeks ago - were they aware of the allegations then? It seems that they must have been).
For some men, it would appear, the real upside of fame, money and professional achievement is that it gives them better tools to prey upon women.

Why are you not surprised?

Silverparting · 30/04/2021 06:54

This drama is infuriating. I dislike all of the characters.
Why doesn't anybody have curtains?

Silverparting · 30/04/2021 07:05

My husband keeps 'joking' about Howard from Take That every time the street fighting man comes on screen!

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2021 07:37

Yes, The Guardian article is pretty damning. If it had been one or two incidents it wouldn't look like much but it's 15 years of incidents. The bit that creeped me out the most was the 'naked auditions' and how he wrote explicit sex scenes for himself to star in.

FritataPatate · 30/04/2021 08:49

Urgh. Another creepy bloke. I don't think I can watch the rest of this

Yep, @Clymene, sums up how I feel too. Sad

Samcro · 30/04/2021 09:44

I just can't get my head round why they would have a birthday party for a missing maybe dead person.

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2021 09:55

@samcro yes, it's pretty weird behaviour. It's coming across that although they are meant to be a group of friends none of them actually like each other or have anything in common.

Synthesiser · 30/04/2021 10:35

I really enjoyed the first episode and was thinking about it the next say, but didn't enjoy the next 2 as much. Not sure if it was partly because I was looking at my phone at the same time. Not yet watched the 4th.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2021 11:05

Ok. So it’s kate

She’s jealous, bumps off woman who threaten her relationship with men she likes, aka Carl

Dad of kate if filthy rich and pays Janice to handle things

So she either killed both woman or helped kate to get rid of bodies

See I said it wasn’t Greg 😂

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2021 11:06

@lazymum99

So Kate kills off Karl’s first wife and then Jemma who he is having affair with. The woman with the dog disposes of the bodies. Why Martin would want to get mixed up with Zoe I don’t know. She’s a mess
Ha ha. You said if first

I hadn’t read replied before I posted

BrittanyKAMA · 30/04/2021 12:28

They are talking about CANCELLING tonight’s episode.

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2021 12:35

That's a crap thing to do when viewers have invested their time watching all week to then not have the conclusion.

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2021 13:05

Oh I see it's the viewers that are asking for it to be pulled. All that advertising and bigging Noel Clarke up.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2021 13:12

Wtf. They can’t do that

I agree. Not fair to the viewers. Or the cast and crew who worked hard to get it on screen. Ones alleged actions affecting others.
HectorHalloumi · 30/04/2021 13:34

@BrittanyKAMA

They are talking about CANCELLING tonight’s episode.

That's not fair.
Plus what happened to innocent until proven guilty?

TheLODstinkyunderpassAKATits · 30/04/2021 13:35

I also think cancelling it is pretty harsh on the rest of the cast/crew who are part of the programme.

That said, I still haven't got a clue what's going on...

KittytheHare · 30/04/2021 13:40

It's not really a massive feat of detection to say that it's Kate, is it? Isn't that how episode 4 actually ended?

I think because they've now declared Kate, there's going to be someone else involved in Gemma's disappearance. Zoe during a blackout?

HectorHalloumi · 30/04/2021 13:41

Yes it's got to have a twist or what was the point of the whole thing? Confused

PrincessScarlett · 30/04/2021 13:57

Yes, it's been set up to be Kate. If there's going to be a twist it could be Zoe and she was blind drunk and can't remember. Like she couldn't remember the drunk episode that Kate reported her to social services for. And that would leave Martin in a big old mess now he's started sleeping with Zoe.

Silverparting · 30/04/2021 14:07

I've always thought it was Zoe and how ridiculous it was to work in her home, give her Intel etc.

Inkanta · 30/04/2021 14:46

I'd never heard of this actor until this week (as I was watching this drama) and now he's all in the news. Very strange.

Can't deny that it's put me off a bit - but I do want to see the ending.
