Also, who falls into the sea fully clothed in February and 'warms up' by sitting outside a cafe?! She'd end up with hypothermia!

TrashyPanda · 13/02/2022 13:46

Casualty seems so disjointed now.
Partly because they are only using a few of the cast in each episode. There used to always be folk in the background. Now it’s like they are in it for 2 weeks, then off for three etc. So we don’t feel we have got to know Sa (or however it is spelt), or Stevie, or Paige or the male doctor who used to go out with Fenisha. He is so undeveloped that I can’t remember his name.
There hasn’t been a nurse to replace Jade, has there?

IMO the quality has deteriorated badly over the last couple of years. It’s like they are running it into the ground.

Will it end with the incredibly frail and ancient Charlie have a heart attack (his acting is always great fun to watch when he has an injury/ailment - like “try to guess the emotion - constipation? No, he’s been stabbed”) and expire in the ED, which then ceremoniously collapses all around him as its human foundation has been destroyed, or some such crap. And all that piss about being a family. No, people walk out the door for a new job and are never mentioned again. Life and work continues as normal.

purpleme12 · 13/02/2022 23:47

When Robyn and Charlotte were sat in the car and Robyn seemed to expect her to get out of her volition then. With a child that age you'd get out and open the door and help her get out.

Then at the end when Robyn was like 'what about Charlotte?' and Paige said it's all taken care of.
Well if you were in hospital I think you'd need a bit more detail about who's looking after your child

purpleme12 · 13/02/2022 23:48

I can't believe I'm saying this but I do feel disillusioned with Casualty nowadays

Casualty is my favourite programme ever. I've watched it for years and years and that's why it pains me to say it.

I don't feel as invested in the characters or the storylines as much anymore. I don't think it's as gripping or as funny either.

Is it just me?

SleepingStandingUp · 14/02/2022 23:16

So I don't mind an episode set around a single character but that felt like a political broadcast about how nurses are so poorly paid they're aborting babies they'd otherwise want

Charlie walked in with Charlotte immediately after that conversation, he was probably stood outside the room. It seemed pretty obvious that he had her and would be caring for her for the duration.
purpleme12 · 15/02/2022 01:36

Right ok

SleepingStandingUp · 15/02/2022 09:10

Whereas the car scene was ridiculous.
Surely the point of seat belts at 4 is that they can't get themselves out, out the car seat, and down out of the car alone?

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2022 14:21

My dd is 4 and can do /undo seat belt / when Told and can open car door if not child locked

So did Robyn have a mc or took tablets to start early abortion

Couldn’t work out which happened

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 18/02/2022 14:41

An abortion

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2022 19:11

So she took the first tablets the. Literally few hours started bleeding

@Blondeshavemorefun

So she took the first tablets the. Literally few hours started bleeding
She’d taken the first tablets at the clinic, and it later showed her taking the second while standing at her locker at work. That was obviously the following day which she’d been advised to take off.
Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2022 21:00

Ah. Missed her taking the second. I thought she got cold feet as said she couldn’t do it and ran out of room

It’s the first that you missed her taking.

She did initially leave the room but went back in and after talking with the nurse again she took the first tablet before returning to work.
The following day she went into work after dropping Charlotte off at school, ignoring the advice given at the clinic to stay at home, and it was there was she took the second tablet.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2022 22:32

So last week why did no one mention how Robyn lived with Charlie and Dufft when she first had Charlotte? He has form for supporting her.

This week - where we're Fayes other kids and why weren't they mentioned? They weren't home when the phone rang, they weren't with Grandma....where were they? Why didn't she phone them to ask where Luka was?

spiderlight · 20/02/2022 11:01

I got unreasonably excited last night because the scene with Luka and the 'coach' sitting eating in the car was filmed in the car park of the park where we walk our dog most mornings and we were there when the crew were setting up, although we didn't see much except for a load of trucks.

bizzey · 20/02/2022 11:17

Last night's was a wired episode .
I thought Sha and Teddy (?) were both juniors/ technitions or something .
Why were they both out together ?

Little Luka was very good with his facial expressions in the the car .

Mumdiva99 · 20/02/2022 14:43

Wow @spiderlight how exciting!! Lol. (You could tell they filmed all those scenes on 1 day as it was raining in the car park but not elsewhere.

spiderlight · 20/02/2022 15:53

Faith was driving round and round the same block as well, just across the road from the car scene - I was like 'she'd be able to see him from there!' 🤣 Not as exciting as the time a Holby ambulance pulled up next to us at traffic lights a few years back, though.

You're right about the wildly different weather, but given that they film in Cardiff, it could quite feasibly have been filmed ten minutes apart!!

TrashyPanda · 20/02/2022 15:57

Perhaps cos Robyn had lived with him before was why she had no intentions of going back there!

Presumably the writers didn’t actually know the family dynamics? It was more than a bit strange.

Faiths hair - what has happened to it? The colour is peculiar and it just looks greasy all the time.

Sah - such an unpleasant character. And so bossy. Really do not care about the hard past - doesn’t explain why Sah has such a nasty personality.

As said, no way would too juniors be alone on a shift.

Mumdiva99 · 20/02/2022 17:18

I don't find Sah nasty, just a bit bland. I thought she was quire sweet with the old guy. Although if he was so important how come she didn't know his wife had died?

unvillage · 20/02/2022 22:43

*"they", not "she"

I like Sah so far, I'm glad we're starting to see a bit more of them - the paramedics have really been out of the loop since Fenisha and Lev died. Teddy is a child but Sah seems more mature and a good match for him.

LavenderAskew · 23/02/2022 23:18

It's all a bit scrappy and unfurnished feeling.

Also, when are they going to replace the light bulbs? They've been out for absolutely ages.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/02/2022 19:57

I thought this weeks was good. Well last weeks

And I used to lust over bill aka Michael Brandon aka Dempsey
