Why on earth was nut job mother allowed in the room while they did a c section?! Esp when t Rosie was probably dying?! Ffs. Just ridiculous.

And then they left a newborn, presumably premature, baby who had arrested alone in a bay, without an incubator, monitoring, feeding.... Even for Casualty it seemed to stretch reality well beyond tolerance.
DontWantTheRivalry · 12/12/2021 17:44

I haven’t yet watched the second part of the episode and judging from the comments on this thread I sharn’t bother Grin

I will just wait until it return to its present period of time next Saturday.

purpleme12 · 12/12/2021 19:08

It's not on til next year now

I don't think Dylan's autistic i think Dylan's just Dylan

Imbored132x · 12/12/2021 20:35

Dylan is just Dylan! As I mentioned I’m Autistic, so maybe it’s just been me reading too much into it because I’ve noticed traits in Dylan for a long time - but then that could well just be me..

Doubleraspberry · 12/12/2021 22:12

I got distracted by a child towards the end - why were they gathered round the tree in the end looking at flowers? Who was it for? The poor mum with Covid?

purpleme12 · 12/12/2021 22:30

my take on it is the people who've died from covid

GoodPrincessWenceslas · 14/12/2021 17:40

@spiderlight

The bit with Munchausen's mum in that house, lying on the bed clutching the big pink teddy - was that a flashback or from when she came out of prison? Seems weird that the house would just be standing empty for 14 years - who owns a place like that outright on a nurse's salary? (I might be overthinking this!)
And that it wasn't covered in dust. I found myself wondering who'd been paying the bills and community charge etc for 14 years, I know I'm sad.
GoodPrincessWenceslas · 14/12/2021 17:46

@NewModelArmyMayhem18

There was little joy in that episode, except for the birth of the baby. Really rubbish. Not even any snow?
There was loads of snow at the end! Puzzled me as I can't remember snow in the south of England on Christmas Day last year.
GoodPrincessWenceslas · 14/12/2021 17:48

Bizarre to me how many people found this episode so confusing. It is strange to have hopped back a year but it has to be leading to Charlie's exit storyline and his conspicuous absence this last year has been due to his brain tumour or whatever.

But it was explained that it wasn't a tumour and was easily fixable.

I'm wondering if they brought Tess back so she can reappear again and start a relationship with Charlie, poor woman.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 14/12/2021 17:57

I clearly didn't watch it to the end, oops!

LavenderAskew · 14/12/2021 18:29

I've just caught up.

I really don't get why it needed to be set in 2020. Why not just make it 2021 - so it might have meant there was less places Rosie's mum to hide in with Oxygen tanks but that was hardly a major part (especially as the hospital seemed to recover from another fire- so much that no one has ever mentioned it again).

Mind you, least it went part way to explaining why Marty and Social Worker knew each other enough to be off with each other when he turned up in the episode just before these two.

The use of loads of never heard of or mentioned again characters was also odd

I will say that if this is the beginning of the end of Charlie I shall forgive everything.

None of it makes sense
GoodPrincessWenceslas · 14/12/2021 21:48

and if this was meant to be last year, where were Jade, Connie, Robyn etc

Robyn was certainly there. They don't normally have the full cast on day in every episode, so I don't really have a problem with people like Jade and Connie not being evident.

TrashyPanda · 14/12/2021 23:38

Oh please, no! Tess has done nothing to deserve that. As an aside, what was that nonsense earlier this year about Charlie being catfished? Since when was he so attractive?

I will say that if this is the beginning of the end of Charlie I shall forgive everything
Me too. It’s high time he left. The character is boring, the actor is terrible and at over 70 (and looking and behaving more like over 80) it’s totally unrealistic. A shift in the ED is hard work.

Would anyone miss Charlie if he left?

Is Derek Thomson still the highest paid actor in the BBC?

eeyoredebbie · 06/01/2022 17:10

Seems a long time since Casualty has been on! When’s the next ep?

Optimist1 · 06/01/2022 20:53

Saturday at 9:30, according to Radio Times

NoddingTulip · 08/01/2022 22:24

Well that's 40 mins of my life I'll never get back! Tonight's episode has to have been one of the crappiest most pointless ones yet. Best bit was probably the fact David's bum bag looked remarkably unscathed, considering he'd had to change scubs 3 times due to apparently being puked on.

WhatICallMyUsername · 08/01/2022 22:56

That new F1 is annoying as hell!

EBearhug · 08/01/2022 23:02

Of course she's as annoying as hell. This probably means she'll end up being the cherished heart of the ED, and will end up snogging Dylan at some point, because he's had to tell her off so much already, and banged on about professionalism.

LavenderAskew · 09/01/2022 12:42

I quite like the new F1.

Also might mean we see more of Dylan.- for the interaction

Spidey66 · 09/01/2022 20:40

Paige is going to be interesting!

TrashyPanda · 09/01/2022 23:27

I hated Paige.
How could she be so stupid and unprofessional? Not to mention immature and rude. The Dylan we all know and love would have torn a strip off her.

Had to laugh when the “previously on” bit showed 3 separate shots of Ethan crying. Does he hold the BBC record for tears running down his cheeks?

The best thing about it was the lack of Charlie.

The rest of the episode was dreadful. The only

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2022 17:36

Total rubbish
