Just watched episode 5 The recording ended really abruptly though with Mare sitting in the doorway as the sirens could be heard - did I miss anything much after that?

No that was pretty much where it ended

I am a bit confused on some of the relationships too. I've saved my recordings and in the days before the last episode, I'm going to watch them again.

Gosh that took a turn! Will she have to leave the force altogether now I wonder? Very tense although it did fe a little silence of the lambs in setup 🤔

I think he (erin’s uncle?) was deliberately being vague on the time she stayed with him to deflect suspicion. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is the father of the baby.

But the evil guy in this episode probs didn’t kill Erin?

No I agree, there’s two stories here and Erin’s murderer is not serial killer guy. Her uncle managed to make himself sound dodgy as hell and 100% guilty fwiw.

I'd be disappointed if the killer turns out to be Lori's brother-in-law (the man who Mare suspects has something to do with Erin's murder). We've only just met him, so there's no investment there for me.

Zabel was such a nice guy and really lovely looking - Evan Peters has such intense eyes. It's pretty gutsy to kill off a main character and before the end of the series.

Loved loved loved the comedy scene at the funeral and Mare roaring with laughter after in the car.

I’m not spoiling anything - it finished on Sky Atlantic 15 minutes ago according to the Radio Times TV guide.

OMG. I watched the last scene hiding in the kitchen. Devastated.

Pure speculation, but I imagine that John is having an affair with Frank's fiancee. (Unless it is Helen 🤣, I loved the comedy funeral scene.)

I make it a point not to look at this thread on Mondays until I've watched the episode!

I’m convinced he’s the father - he was suspiciously agitated, and Mare clocked that he’d only had a sip of his beer before he upped and ran. Well dodge.

I don’t think kidnapper bloke killed Erin. They’d struggle to fill two more episodes if so, plus Erin’s murder doesn’t seem to fit his ‘pattern’.

I thought he said to his (nasty) girlfriend that his parents still wanted to raise the baby? (the scene where they were outside the house at night)

Yes he did and that’s when she started to put him back in the frame for Erins murder

I missed that bit, his parents are lovely , Brianna has really had the wind kicked out of her sails, maybe it wasn't her who was so bad, he is up to something.

Pleased that the lady with cancer will get to be reunited with her daughter, will not be easy but last week was heartbreaking.

I was surprised Erin's friend helped destroy her journals. Wonder what the paper / photo she took was of?

The funeral scene and Mare laughing in the car afterwards had me roaring.

Poor Erin, she was just let down by everyone wasn't she? Her father, her ex boyfriend and now it looks like her best friend was in cahoots with said ex.
