Is the DNA a match to Jo’s or to Farita? If the latter, then the chief commissioner is Asian.

I had this same thought it was a red herring but have rewatched on iPlayer and they definitely said a DNA link to Jo

Either he knew his lawyer is dodgy, or people in witness protection. He thought he'd saved himself by appearing not to cooperate.

So many theories, I can't wait for next Sunday already!

I reckon Jo's relation is Jimmy Lakewell and not Hunter
Also quite suspicious of Chloe. I think she could have got up on the van and was double bluffing when she said the leak could have been AC12. Maybe she is Gates daughter after all and is getting her revenge.

Do we think that Buckells is just incompetent it is he corrupt?

I was leaning towards the former until Lee Banks menacingly referred to rats whilst killing Lakewell. Would Buckells have been so nervous if he was being purely set up by Jo?

Buckell’s phone record had DCI gates as one of his last dialled numbers. Just sayin’.

A nominal is just anyone with a criminal record right? So a known criminal who’s not a police officer. That doesn’t leave us many people in LoD terms.

I’m pretty sure he said it was on another force’s system though?

Are we sure it has to be criminal?

Can nominal just mean a person who has an entry on a database?

What happens to bent coppers' DNA when arrested, or to any copper when they retire? Does it get expunged from the serving personnel one and added to a different database?

I feel like its almost too easy to have Chloe as the bent one

I'm just trying to figure how this fits in.

My money is on Tommy as the link to Jo but it's got me thinking about Ryan and why he is so embedded in the OCG. I've been watching series 1 again this week and I'm wondering it goes deeper than his terrible home life & need to belong. He's been in it up to his neck since he was a kid and seems to have a genuine commitment to the cause. Perhaps Tommy's kids are everywhere?

Tommy Hunter was deaded whilst in witness protection, so i can see why it might put people off

No, not a chance. It was definitely Jo being a blood relative of someone, and Chloe was confused by the results - it can’t have been her in that folder. Also her DNA would be in the police database, not listed as a nominal.

Wasn't he in on it with prassaad who "got him" carly who was part of the ring organised by Tommy hunter.

Far enough away to have plausible deniability but close enough that you don't quite buy he had no involvement with any of it. Especially as he was having the affair with Denton who was also partly responsible for getting hunter killed
