Evening. I've been out to eat tonight, so am ready to critique.

Agree these two did a great job this week.
Though again not canapés.

Every region seems to have canapé size issues - why can’t they grasp the concept of ‘pick it up and stick it in your gob in one go’?

That was savage on the fish. Wonder if something went wrong or if they are just miseries again.

Agree on the eggs, not banquet dishes, they'd go even more wrong at bigger volume.

Well they’re happier with that one even though it’s barely a fish dish!

Yeah the no fish fish dish should have been marked down in the week.

Once again, i get that the judges need to be critics but this seems way out with how everyone else has viewed the dish.

My subtitles keep saying it’s caramel ice-cream instead of caramelised cream 🤦‍♀️

The judges are so bloody po faced. Worse than last series! I wonder if Rachel Khoo in lieu of Prue is the difference

The frozen cheesecake, looks like a slice of artic roll covered in hundreds and thousands.

Those pre-desserts failed spectacularly there

It didn't need to be in a monitor, would have looked stunning just on a black plate.

Was pretty cool in the monitor though!

Gosh I'm being as grumpy as the judges. Both desserts do look amazing

Does annoy me when Matthew likes something and Oliver treats him like an idiot - he’s allowed an opinion!

I think this should have been one of the rare occasions when they put the two mans through to the finals. They were both miles better than some of the other mains finalists

This is where I think the complete menu going through doesn’t work sometimes as you can miss out on a great course

This series is really a game of two halves.

The episodes where the chefs cook for another chef are really good this year, mostly down to Andi. She has been wonderful in her new role - warm hearted and supportive. I love her.

The judging chamber has been awful in comparison. The whole thing is depressing and so downbeat. Even on the rare occasions that she actually likes something it's done in such a grudging way that I can't feel any excitement. I have a certain fondness for Oliver and Matthew's "grumpy old men" act, but they need someone to balance that out and Rachel is not it. They had better ditch her for the next series.

Alex was really good fun on Snackmasters too. I quite like him.

I nearly accidentally set a reminder for Great British Railway Journeys tonight because my tv programme guide only showed the first two words until you clicked on it...

Totally agree with @knitting and others. Love the camaraderie between chefs and Andi. The judging panel is not enjoyable to watch though, the dynamic between them is off balance. Time for a complete panel shake up.
