The canapés round in qualification had lots of cheese dishes. Would have been nice to have some of those included.

Is it me or has asparagus been on every vegan alternative dish so far?

We said that - you're knackered if you don't like asparagus.

Poor Oli but the other chefs rallied so well to do him proud. Glad Dan won, he was so nice & humble.

They definitely used to think of the overall balance. I'm sure I remeber some series where they had cards with all the finalist courses and they basically built a menu from it. That way meant you didn't end up with one chef cooking 2 courses either which has happened a few times recently. I get they need to change the format slightly to keep some suspense or whatever but some changes aren't necessarily better. Andi being in the kitchen is definitely a change for the better in my opinion. I think the judges are getting a bit catty and stale. Pleased for Dan getting CoC and I think they did amazingly to get Oli's main out on top of their own courses. I was also teary throughout the banquet episode, it was all so lovely.

Completely randomly, when Richard Corrigan appeared as chef judge for the second half of the last week and Jude said something about curveball, I laughed out loud because I so want that to be Richard's nickname
