I do like today's guest judge. He clearly loves food and is giving better comments than the regular judges.

I think that’s the first time that I’ve cried at the great British menu! I don’t expect Jude to win, but I’m glad he did.

Don’t know what Matthew is on, it wasn’t the Navy that sank the Titanic!

That was real shock at third place from the lower ranked judges.

I hope Jude's fish dish gets through

I've a feeling this is going to be a long week. I find the critics judging very difficult and mercurial this year. Oli seemed really adamant that his dish was unchanged and I'm inclined to believe him.

I've been getting through the frustration by guessing the results from the editing. When Oli ways making his dish he says "it 's the same as last time" and you just know the judges are going to say the exact opposite. It keeps us amused because there's not much fun on the screen. Still watching though.

Yes the judging seems particularly mean and sneery this year. Thank goodness for Andi, I wasn’t sure about her becoming the ‘host’ but she really is a ray of sunshine this year.

I have just listened to her episode on the Ed Gamble/James Acaster "Off Menu" podcast. She is very funny.

Andi is a ray of sunshine! Really like her. Never seen her before. Looked her up and she was in a band with Neneh Cherry (sp?) years ago. She has authority and goodwill nailed.

I'd love to go on a long boozy lunch with Andi.

Rachel hasn't established herself very well in the judging, time to replace the men.

I guess we can't taste the dishes but Roberta's fish course didn't seem to have much of a link to the brief to me. Aside from being presented on a colour wheel, all the colour in the dish came through all the fiddly flowery bits placed on top and the main elements didn't connect to colour in any way. Jude's had a much stronger visual connection.

Argh, why has this dropped off my ‘I’m on’ list.

I was happy with the result tonight, just because she’s a very outnumbered woman!

I’ve only got as far as Alex’s dish (did get further but only because I fell asleep so had to rewind!) and wow Oliver is being a dick to Rachel and Matthew!
Ok, resume watching now that’s off my chest…

Hullo, long time lurker delurking because I’m very miffed with the fish course results!

I would have liked Jude to win that one.

Jude was robbed. His link to the brief and wow factor was excellent

Joining in for the boozy lunch with Andi and Grace Dent

Hmm, I’ve moved from miffed to really quite cross. Whilst we can’t taste these things, I feel I’ve seen similar to the winning dish before and the link to the brief was weak (it’s food styling, and whilst pretty, I see much better in food magazines each month).

Oliver was raving about Jude’s dish and gave it a 9 so the bonkers scoring continues. I wish Andi had had the deciding vote; I think I’d feel better about it.

I’m sad, I’m a big Jude fan, even through the Josh Eggelton years, and the former Pony & Trap was a favourite of mine :(

I feel the need to contact Points of View (not sure if that’s still a thing!)

I was surprised at the result too and was conflicted over wanting a woman at the banquet, but also wanting Jude there with his best dish.

The guest judge was far better than the other three, again.
I'd have like to hear more from her, and see her as a judge on other cooking shows.
