I reckon Claire is a Dungeness girl, I can imagine her foraging along the shoreline next to the power station.

(Incidentally if you are ever down that way there is a very good fishmonger who sells fresh fish off his boar, and his daughter does a cooked fish stall with a twist, not just fresh fish fingers but fish fried and served with home made flatbread, salad, coleslaw and cucumber yoghurt .)
