I am sorry to say I really am getting very bored with all the tripe of late but I hang on because one imminent storyline could be a good one. Elaine has moved in with Yasmeen and is encouraging her to drink.

Corrie writers, pull yer socks up and do not disappoint us!

Akire · 17/03/2021 23:36

We had all that house buying saga we have barely seen Gail in the house. How long does it take to splash some paint and move some kids blue tacked pictures around?

I haven't notice before how close the garage is to the factory doors. They must be over come by exhaust fumes a regular basis.

Why isn’t Gary out and all over Maria? Why isn’t Faye at the prison making chit chat with her brother?

Why doesn’t Steve have a job? I thought it was more than fair to ask for payment when his son died months ago. Though a monthly magazine and daily papers would be over £40 very quickly. Why was it such a big deal? They could have asked him about money without all being insulted. Then caught up on his training or charity plans. Why would she pay £40 when it’s Ken’s bill as well?

Why did we have Toyah talking to Leanne and not mention they had/going to have a mouthy teenager moving in?

Akire · 17/03/2021 23:40

Why hadn’t Faye got her job back at the bistro after what she went through, she is owed a job!

Why isn’t Ryan working as bistro chief when he did before but doesn’t work at at speed dail.

Why hadn’t someone shaved Sebs hair and give into him a wash?

Why why why!

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 17/03/2021 23:43

@lollipoprainbow

Contractions tend to come on gradually in waves getting progressively worse ! Not sudden pain !
My second labour was straight to intense pain. No build up at all. Baby arrived less than 2 hours later. So it can happen. The acting was shit though.
eggandonion · 17/03/2021 23:52

Maybe grace and the daddy of the baby can go and live with ronnie and Kat, who I assume live in St Albans or somewhere south.

excelledyourself · 18/03/2021 00:09

Is that baby really early? Seems like Grace should be barely into her second trimester. Although the less we have to endure her, the better.

Akire · 18/03/2021 00:15

Google says we found out end Dec she was pregnant and that was when she was at hospital for either 12 or 20 week scan. So she would either be 24 weeks or 32. She’s been huge for ages mind thought she was more than 6/7 months. Plus no scan after your 20th so what scan was she going do find out the sex?

Deadringer · 18/03/2021 00:20

The Bailey family are just awful and completely unconvincing as a family, they don't look alike, or speak alike, the only thing they have in common is that none of them can act. Ed's voice goes right through me, what on earth persuaded him to go into acting, he should be a town crier or something.

Akire · 18/03/2021 00:28

The only thing they have in common is they can’t act Grin

I don’t mind the dad he could live in builders yard, pop out on street with cheery good mornings and odd joke nothing to taxing. They seem to have given up on Aggie altogether. Is she shielding or something? Their house is far to clean for three blokes to be living there while their mother is away when she looks sort that does everything.

Fiddlersgreen · 18/03/2021 00:32

I think I heard them say the baby was 10 weeks too early?

It’s Michael’s voice I can’t stand, it really grates on me. Not bothered by Ed’s

Akire · 18/03/2021 00:34

It still bugs me no one has had their jabs yet. Even if they filmed and slotted it in extra. Surely back in the “olden days” kids had new jabs as they were invented. Was there never any chat about MMR or the joy of the polo vaccine?

Ken could be walking around showing off his badge, Steve and Tim could be taking OAP to vaccines centres. Mary could be baking biscuits for staff etc. In 20y on play back are they Just going stop wearing masks and never mention it again?

We need a lockdown is over street party or something WineBiscuit

Akire · 18/03/2021 00:35

10 weeks it must be 2lb and tiny

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 18/03/2021 00:36

@SimplyMarvellousDarrrrrrling

God Give Me Strength

This is scraping the bottom of the barrel with the builder family, those poor actors, I'm embarrassed for them

Utter, utter shit

My thoughts exactly, it is just so bloody amateurish and hammy now, honestly it makes Crossroads look positively Shakespearean.
icecreamgirl94 · 18/03/2021 00:38

I sort of can’t help but be a bit mesmerised by Ed’s voice because I can’t believe he actually talks like that.
Michael doesn’t bother me and has actually been mildly funny at times.
James is awful! Always talks really slowly and like he’s reading straight off the script!
Couldn’t care less about Aggie and I’m not a fan of Grace either.
Ronnie I still don’t know from Adam (although I know he’s not Adam obviously Grin )

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 18/03/2021 00:46

I’ve said this before but the gaping chasm between Classic Corrie and today’s tripe is painful, I know it’s only a tv programme but it really bothers me, I’ve watched this from childhood with my late mum, it’s the only show I actually care about, to see it reach this new low makes me sad and I can’t ever see it getting better.

UhtredRagnarson · 18/03/2021 00:57

Michael’s voice is just appalling. Why on earth did they cast someone who cannot form words correctly?

I remember Bradley Walsh saying on the chase that he used to have to do loads of chemistry rehearsal things when on Corrie to test the chemistry between two characters. Clearly Corrie have done away with those altogether. There is zero chemistry on Corrie between any characters at all.

Roussette · 18/03/2021 06:54

Does this happen to anyone else... you miss an episode (I didn't watch the second one last night, couldn't bear it), but then I come on here and I honestly feel like I have watched it!

Thank you everyone, you have cheered me up his morning!

It sounds like it was all the builders' family on the last episode..

A couple of questions...
Did Aggie deliver the baby. If not, why not, given she's always there when anyone from the street takes their turn at going into hospital?

Has the new Ronnie wife left? I'm not sure I can stand another episode with this daft storyline something to do with Aggie, and who's son is who, and I don't care!

honestly it makes Crossroads look positively Shakespearean
🤣 That might be one step too far, given the walls on Crossroads used to wobble when someone shut the door!

Lobsterquadrille2 · 18/03/2021 07:04

I want to know how Grace remembered Ronnie's mobile number. I wouldn't know anyone's.

SimplyMarvellousDarrrrrrling · 18/03/2021 07:52

@Lobsterquadrille2

Not sure if she did as he picked it up from the side but agree why didn't she ring the police/ambulance she was imprisoned and in labour.

How can she not find the receipt when she is searching through her bag but the minute she gets to hospital, in her hospital gown she can produce it?
Because that's at the foremost of your mind when you go into premature labour isn't it? Just incase the security guard turns up and what do you know, he did! Bloody amazing when you are allowed no visitors

I turned off after that

They either
A. want/are after a completely new audience
B. think we are stupid
C. Don't give a shit

If I was an advertiser, I'd think about pulling out TBH

Roussette · 18/03/2021 07:55

Are you saying the security guard turned up at the hospital whilst she was in labour??
🤣😂

SimplyMarvellousDarrrrrrling · 18/03/2021 08:09

Yes @Roussette, it was totally credible 🙄
She magiced the receipt for the 'stolen' items from hospital bed, t'was a thing of wonder 🤣😂🤣🤣😂
They really have their finger on the ball on this one

Roussette · 18/03/2021 08:26

Hehehe.... this is just making me laugh! It's almost more fun not to watch!

A seurity guard who is only on the shop floor takes it upon himself to follow a woman in labour to the hospital?!!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/03/2021 08:51

@Lobsterquadrille2

I want to know how Grace remembered Ronnie's mobile number. I wouldn't know anyone's.
I thought she was supposed to have rung the landline at the Bailey house. (Not sure she’d have known that number by heart either, but it’s slightly more believable.)

There was so much else wrong with the scenes last night that it seems almost too minor an issue to point out, but... don’t most self-service tills encourage you NOT to take a receipt? Surely dozens of people walk out of supermarkets without paper receipts every day?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/03/2021 08:54

@Roussette

Yes, that’s the new rule for labour wards during coronavirus. Two visitors max, with your ex-boyfriend’s uncle who might secretly be his dad and the security guard who brought on your early labour by accusing you of shoplifting and locking you in the office given priority.

Uronmute · 18/03/2021 09:10

I think for the first time in Corrie history I am in serious danger of giving up watching. Aleyna is a painfully bad actress, as is the entire family that were at the centre of things last night, and nobody has a labour that sudden and dramatic- why on earth didn’t she just dial 999 from the supermarket office?
