Can’t believe it’s new thread time already! Shock

I didn't see Ruby's post so not sure what it said. The 'spoiler' yesterday (or day before, I lose track!) wasn't really a spoiler as that person has already been mentioned on screen in the storyline so we know he exists.

Perhaps @MNHQ could edit title to include No Spoiler so anyone new to the thread knows the guidelines for this particular thread.

Peace all. Happy Sunday DaffodilDaffodil

Oh and the poster upthread who recommended Hometown: A Killing. I watched 4 out of 6 last night, excellent documentary. Will sit down to watch the last 2 later.

I found it disturbing and well made. As a white woman living in the south with no affiliation at all to the area or cultures, I was completely drawn in. Highly recommended.

The character may have been mentioned (I hadn't heard them mentioned in a way that meant they were appearing but accept I may have missed it) but not the actor playing them or when they are coming into it. I didn't know before reading the post yesterday, so it spoiled it for me and a number of other people also said it was a spoiler. I'm on the app so the title is cut off, but I think it already says no spoilers? If not then I agree that it definitely should.

I would rather stick with the usual definition of spoiler used on MN threads and say that if it hasn't been aired in a Corrie episode, then it is a spoiler, and that includes actors, things in trailers, etc. It is surely better to err with caution to avoid ruining it for others? I stopped reading a Corrie thread on another forum that was meant to be no spoilers as people still posted them and whenever anyone pulled them up on it there was a string of "Oh come on, everyone knew that, no one can't have heard it, you're being ridiculous" etc, and they were all things that I genuinely hadn't known! I enjoy this thread so I would hate it to turn into something like that.

It already says no spoilers in the title. It says it in every single Corrie thread. Has done for ages. And its always explained in the threads when dickheads persist with their spoiler posting. Everyone knows what a spoiler is- I’d it hasnt been aired, it’s a spoiler. There’s no excuse. It’s deliberate, not ignorance.

It says NO SPOILERS in caps.

Agree re spoilers. Even if a family have been saying for weeks that Great Uncle Barry is coming to stay I don’t want to see who that person or find out the plot before he arrives. I can’t even work out what new person as been hinted at or is expected.

Glad it's not just me who hadn't noticed the new character being mentioned! I think if people know the spoiler they pick up on things that those who have avoided spoilers don't.

I felt like smashing Leanne's face in when she had YET another dig at Toyah about not being a mother. She is toxic, and actually the kind of person you'd go non-contact with

So agree.
How cruel to thrown this in your childless Sister's face. And it's not the first time.
Don't know why Toyah accepts her sister's vile behaviour. She has been a rock suppoting Leanne, over and above, yet Leanne just turns on her again and again.

My apologies for suggesting this. On the app, you can't see the "no spoilers" in the title.

I wasn't condoning spoilers at all! I absolutely agree that if it hasn't been aired, don't mention it here!

BenoneBeauty · 07/03/2021 12:12

On the app, it doesn't say no spoilers at all.

Didn't realise you couldn't see the full title on the app Confused

Anyway, complete agree that this thread should be spoiler free.

UhtredRagnarson · 07/03/2021 12:20

On the App it does say no spoilers but the way the app is set up is that it cuts off the end of long titles so you can’t see it.

ajandjjmum · 07/03/2021 12:38

Maybe whoever starts the new thread could begin with the 'no spoiler' message, so that it will be visible on the app.?

UhtredRagnarson · 07/03/2021 12:38

Good idea!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/03/2021 14:26

Gaileen Gaileen I'm begging of you please don't take my man (who was Kenny in Benidorm)

YES!

I'd been trying to work out where I'd seen him before.

Thank Christ he isn't still in those shiney satin shorts!

Mollypolly2610 · 07/03/2021 15:25

Not sure if I’m right but is Jacob the same guy who is in the Hairy Bikers advert for vegetarian food?
Maybe it’s just my eyes (which are not good)

TellingBone · 07/03/2021 15:44

Oh emm gee I've just come across Buggernation Street on youtube. How did I not know about this? It was uploaded years ago but I've never previously heard of it. Genuine old Corra episodes dubbed with new dialogue.

Here's one I've just watched. Enjoy.

UhtredRagnarson · 07/03/2021 16:19

Urgh. Sorry not my taste. Had to turn off after 15 seconds.

Just watched that it was hilarious! I was going to forward on to my grown up kids before I realised how rude it was 😀

For those who remember Paula Wilcox in Man About the House - Yasmine & Elaine should take in a male lodger. This would give the opportunity for some much needed happy friendship/comedy scenes. A pity Lewis is no longer with us as Nigel Havers would have been great.

Clawdy · 07/03/2021 17:59

That's a great idea!

Roussette · 07/03/2021 18:19

Brill idea, yes!

I'm old enough to remember Man about the House!

TellingBone · 07/03/2021 18:21

Maybe they could get Sally Thomsett in as well
