New thread!

Sad Sal. Thought she'd be safe after the drink flask.

Oooh! It let me post a photo that time 😂

On another note, does anyone know if there's a sewing bee this year?

Nith · 15/03/2021 15:30

I actually agreed that Jodie should win, but I think that Adam should be given credit for not going down the relatively easy Clarice Cliff style path. I was a bit surprised that no-one went for more of a flapper vibe.

bruffin · 15/03/2021 15:52

I dont think pastel ice cream colours are really art deco style. The buildings in Miami are art deco style but the colours they are now are not necessarily the same colours as when they were built.

Yes, I thought Keith said something about Miami 1930's and 1940's style. So a thing, but not really classic art deco.

These are some of our 1920's and 30's ceramics. At least I hope it works. Sorry camera on phone is rubbish, so may not show up well.

The tiny little orange pot on the far left is Clarice Cliff but cost peanuts.

wandawombat · 15/03/2021 17:21

Lovely programme. Nice ending, nearly shed a tear. May even look to take up pottery.

Tho have to say I'm not looking at Keef in quite the same light. Read the Guardian article, with a link to his Adele tribute. Was going to share it on FB, until I watched it to the end. 😳

bruffin · 15/03/2021 17:40

I just watched Keith on his dylexia and he said his ability to pack a van is exactly like my DH who is dyslexic, he is amazing at sorting amount a mess, but is an engineer by trade but a good amateur photographer. DS is also dyslexic and definitely sees the world differently

That's lovely stuff!

I love the bold colours myself - I've never been a lover of pastels.

Garish.

That's me. Grin

Is there a link to that article, please?
wandawombat · 15/03/2021 19:49

Guardian article

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/03/2021 19:51

Thanks wombat

i did google, but I couldn't;t find it.

knittingaddict · 15/03/2021 20:03

Thank you SchadenfreudePersonified. It's really my husband's collection, but I do share the love. It's like all collections, neon it's own looks ok, but a whole shelf looks amazing. My husband is an artist and I do fibre arts, so we both love a bit of colour.

My collections are mostly useable ceramics, like 1920's plates, tureens and cups and saucers. My Crown Devon Stockholm collection is my pride and joy.

knittingaddict · 15/03/2021 20:04

Sorry that should say one on it's own

wandawombat · 15/03/2021 20:40

No problem, had a bit of a link fail. 🔗😁

The turquoise and orange contrast looks particularly stunning!

By sheer coincidence my DD and I were chatting about new Equafleece coats for our spaniels. One of them is orange and white and DD thought a turquoise blue coat would look good with his bright orange ears.

It seems she is right - I'll get my order in! Grin

LaChatte · 16/03/2021 13:01

Ooh, just seen a new series on BBC2 called All that glitters, possibly something else to look forward to!

bruffin · 16/03/2021 14:12

Oooh All That Glitters looks really good.

The woodwork programme looked really good, such a shame they couldnt show it because of one of the contestants tattoos

wandawombat · 16/03/2021 14:52

Yes, I liked Chopped. But then I like Forged in Fired...

What woodwork programme?
bruffin · 16/03/2021 16:19

It was called The Chop and set in Epping Forest. The first episode went out and there were loads of complaints about one of the contestants tattoos, supposed to be white supremist/nazi , so they had to withdraw the programme

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/03/2021 16:53

Oh, bugger!

What a shame Bruffin. I wonder why they couldn't have just pixellated it out.

I'm really enjoying all of these "skills I wish I had" programmes

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 16/03/2021 17:09
