New thread!

Sad Sal. Thought she'd be safe after the drink flask.

Lovely that Lee is moving to be near Sal

Roussette · 14/03/2021 21:00

And Lee is moving down near Sal or something? From Yorkshire to Cornwall

It all went a bit quick!

Furbylicious · 14/03/2021 21:00

Me too @TokyoSushi

HeadNorth · 14/03/2021 21:01

Lovely is indeed the word - all lovely people making lovely things and being lovely to each other. I will miss this lovely show on Sunday evening.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 14/03/2021 21:02

@Roussette

Oh yes. Well deserved. And they all are so so pleased for her

I shall miss this sooooo much.

Now need Sewing Bee!

Just said the same to Mr Schaden.

(He's lounging on a chair, covered with cats, and asking for beer on the grounds that he can't move to get it himself . . . )

HmmmWhatUserName · 14/03/2021 21:02

So sad it's over, it's such a lovely programme

Roussette · 14/03/2021 21:02

Thanks for the great company everyone! Smile

Wolfcub · 14/03/2021 21:04

Hopefully see you all for sewing bee and other lovely telly sometime soon

Changeforchangessake · 14/03/2021 21:05

Nice one ! Wouldn’t have minded. Any of them. Why do all potters seem so lovely?

viques · 14/03/2021 21:06

Well done Jodie, such a sweet girl. I love her work, and her plaits, how does she get them so neat.

Great programme, great contestants. Siobhan was a terrific host and the judges gave constructive encouraging.criticism.

Will miss Adams piercing blue eyes. Happy birthday Peter, doing it for the oldies, I mean those in their prime.

Thanks too to the MNs who have been fellow travellers on the journey we have all been on, wipes tear from eyes, pours large g and t into dolls house cup but fortunately realises mistake in time!

TheSpottedZebra · 14/03/2021 21:07

Cheerio, Lovelies!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 14/03/2021 21:08

Thank you all for being fellow-travellers on this lovely journey into the potter's art.

This is what telly should be like . . .

. . . lovely people demonstrating their skills making lovely things and being lovely to each other.

What a delightful, gentle world this would be if we were all like this.

Use the punchbowl viques - better size. Grin

weaselwords · 14/03/2021 21:10

What a fabulous final! I wouldn’t have liked to have chosen the winner as they were all so good 😍. Well done Jodie 💐

Nydj · 14/03/2021 21:12

Lovely final episode and a worthy winner - well done Jodie!

I have just caught up having been about twenty mins behind. They were stunning sets, all three. It was a shame about adams decanters, i really liked the style of his.
I have loved Jodie from the start so very pleased she won.
What a lovely programme, i’m sad it has finished and agree, we need sewing bee now! Is it going to be on soon does anyone know?
Thanks all, i have loved this thread too!

bruffin · 14/03/2021 22:53

Jodie was a deserved winner

Its such a shame that Blown Away hasnt learnt a lesson from GPTD, lovely participants instead of egos telling everyone how good they are, a little education on techniques and history whereas nothing on Blown Away.

Nith · 15/03/2021 00:00

I think lots of Adam's stuff on the show is fabulous (beautifully done, even if it's not often very 'me') - but most of the stuff on his website looks like the output from a college pottery class to me. I have a couple of bits round my house with a similar feel, but that's because my sister and a much-loved uncle made them!

Just what I thought when I looked at his website! He really needs to learn from what he did on the show. I thought his designs tonight were brilliant, though I agree the decanters were totally impractical.

ScienceSensibility · 15/03/2021 02:08

Like everyone else,I’ve really enjoyed this series and think Siobhan has been a fantastic host. She has just the right mixture of support and humour.

Any news on Sewing Bee??

Disfordarkchocolate · 15/03/2021 05:53

I hope we have the same judges and host next year, they have all been amazing.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/03/2021 06:18

Agree re: judges and host.

Siobhan is lovely, Rich is so gentle and positive about everything and Weepy Keef is Weepy Keef! - also a lovely kind man giving positive criticism.

Agree about Blown Away - I watched the first series, and TBH a couple of the rugs were so massive and the personalities so unpleasant, I didn't want to see any more, which was a shame, because some of the contestants seemed lovely and the premise was interesting (though I thought having everything based on performance with one task was a bit harsh. There was so much back-biting and petty spite it just depressed me.

I like nice people who are kind to each other, help each other out and are genuinely gutted if someone's teapot gets dropped on the way to the drying room. The atmosphere is so much gentler.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/03/2021 06:18

*egos, not rugs

Honestly, you'd think I would have dropped trusting autocorrect y now . . .

SoupDragon · 15/03/2021 08:04

I disliked Siobhan less by the end but I didn't really like her as host.

SoupDragon · 15/03/2021 08:07

a couple of the rugs were so massive

I see a new series: Magic Carpet Ride. Watch 12 rug makers weave their way to become champion.
