I'm really confused
On radio times he said it was a new series. Series 8.
I missed it so went to watch it on catch up but there's no series 8 there??
Was it not on after all??

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/08/2021 09:19

Last weeks was def an episode that I hadn’t seen before

Not sure if s7 end of. Or s8 no 1

Tonight’s doesn’t ring a bell. Doesn’t have repeat in TV guide so hopefully new one and days 2/7

Millionaire businesswoman debi swaps with single mum gen who lives on under £60 a week

Just watched episode 7 of series 7 - Buckinghamshire. Four kids in a two bedroom flat when you're struggling, why have so many children, I don't understand it?

purpleme12 · 22/08/2021 10:00

Oh right
For some reason series 8 isn't showing on catch up!

Ok I've worked it out.
Last week's radio times said it was series 8 episode one which wasn't showing on catch up.
But it was actually series 7 episode 7 which hadn't been shown before! So no wonder I couldn't find series 8!
Watching last week's now I've realised what went wrong! Stupid radio times!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/08/2021 11:53

Just about to watch now

@purpleme12 what did you think

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 25/08/2021 11:54

I was surprised they named it

Perry hill farmhouse. That’s near me

They don’t usually name houses. Just the area

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 25/08/2021 11:55

I haven't watched the one just gone yet. Going to watch it tonight

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/08/2021 12:02

Seems weird they did a swap with two adult /teenagers but one didn't attend and did it with a friend

But guess both single mums tho sad Debi husband died

Much prefer swaps when they have same number of children and the rich have to share bedrooms
To give them some perspective iyswim

Just catching up on the two episodes.
The more kids than they can afford just had me rolling my eyes. Especially with a mountain of debt.

And the latest the poor woman seemed so wet. Working a few hours a day when your child is an older teen seemed bizarre. Im feeling so judgy.

The deli/cafe/bar where I live has a florist in.

I was delighted the rich halves had actual businesses they'd started. And it wasn't all snake all seminars.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/08/2021 16:48

Judge away. Even with a dad to pop into, she could work more then 3hrs a day

Now me wondering about us, she would have to work a minimum of 16hrs to claim

Seems insane that she could work another 6 hrs every day and not live off £57 a werk

How did she feed 3 of them on that

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 26/08/2021 00:46

It said she was caring for her dad
Maybe he had more problems that we could see?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2021 07:15

Tho wouidnt you do an evening job of cleaning offices for 2hrs or ironing at home or cleaning during the day etx

Anything to make some money

E3

The goodale d’amores in million pound house but mum Gemma often working late and doesn’t spend much family time , swap with dad Solomon in Bedfordshire who lost his job during covid as caseworker but would like to start a children’s care home

OP posts:
Lampzade · 30/08/2021 15:27

The ‘poor house’ was actually quite nice tbh.

tigerbreadandtea · 30/08/2021 16:21

Do they purposefully find "poor" families with four or more children?

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/08/2021 16:24

Least they finally had the same number of kids

So rich have to share a bedroom

This week channel5 rubbed me up the wrong way with the voiceover, going on about the rich family getting rich due to hard work, as if Sully's care work is a walk in the park.

The printing business, this is the second time it's come up as an idea for the poor family, is it some sort of MLM?
Just seems such an old fashioned idea when there have been companies online printing bespoke everything cheaply for decades. And more likely the money being made, is in selling the printers and materials, not the end users.

The rich dad was lovely and clearly not from a particularly privileged background, knew how to knock up cheap meals without much prompting.
The kids from both sides were great, again. And agree it was great to finally have same sized families.

It would have been interesting if part of the food budget had been using school meal vouchers for one episode this series.

tigerbreadandtea · 31/08/2021 17:27

@jay55 I was wondering that too...
