Anyone watch last night

Likely lad and dad in Essex mansion swap with working mum and her 3 kids

Maybe she doesn't work more hours because of childcare with that many children

The poor house's garden was amazing!

creepingthyme · 18/03/2021 14:37

@purpleme12 she specifically said that she would rather sacrifice money for more time with the children, so it was purely a lifestyle choice. I actually found her quite condescending towards the rich mum for working so much.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2021 14:43

Agree garden was amazing and lovely to see things for kids to play on

But yes she made it clear that as she didn’t see eldest much as had young , that she wanted more kids and to be at home with them regardless if they struggled financially

Different priorities I guess

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2021 14:51

Very true but if struggling with 3 kids why on Earth have another 2

Exactly. Why not stop at 2 or maybe 3? The husband works a 50 hour week and she said he sacrifices sleep to spend time with her and the children. He must be exhausted a lot of the time and, considering he is an HGV driver, it is silly not to get enough sleep.

I wouldn't be that surprised if they didn't have more children

E4 - Sunday 9/10pm

Trevor and marie swap their 4 bed , 3 bath house with Micheal and Natasha who get by on £100 a week

Not sure how many kids either have

The so called ‘poor’ house looks lovely
The ‘rich’ house is lovely , but not necessarily‘ rich’

purpleme12 · 21/03/2021 21:22

This 'poor house' own a property and have both parents working
You'd have thought they'd be in a better position...
happy to be corrected if i'm being naive though

purpleme12 · 21/03/2021 21:23

Mind you i think they said the husband of the poor house had a really long commute in the car didn't they - why hasn't he compromised and got a job nearer home. That would cut costs i bet

purpleme12 · 21/03/2021 21:58

i didn't warm to this episode

Teddy1970 · 21/03/2021 22:18

Me neither, the rich house is pleasant enough but not wow in the slightest, the poor house looks really nice, especially from the outside.

FreedomFollows · 22/03/2021 10:02

I agree, I wouldn't class a 3 bed semi detached as poor, nor a 4 bed detached necessarily rich 🤷🏻‍♀️
Every week the gap between the 'rich' house and 'poor' house gets smaller.

purpleme12 · 22/03/2021 12:00

it does seem to get smaller as time goes on i have to admit

ChessieFL · 22/03/2021 12:06

They’re running out of people willing to be on it aren’t they?!

jay55 · 22/03/2021 13:27

Had the rich couple been on wife swap or similar in the past? The rich chap was so annoying and a bit familiar. Again they had a training/mentoring service to advertise. I'm beginning to wonder if they recruited the rich families at an event that teaches property developers how to sell life coaching.

Agree the poor house was nice, loads of space, nicely furnished, thought the poor house had nicer bathroom tiles than the rich house. The kids were well dressed and happy. It seemed to be much more of a put upon mum problem, due to the dads commute, than struggling to make ends meet.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2021 20:57

Always seem to help

Poor dad wanted to get into property

Rich dad owns property agency’s

I did wonder why poor dad didn’t get a job closer to home but maybe he applied for stuff and wasn’t getting it so better to stay in a job

Mentor is usually £24k plus vat 🙀🙀🙀🙀

OP posts:
Teddy1970 · 23/03/2021 00:07

I think last nights episode had to be one of the worst, quite boring really, neither couple were particulary rich or poor, it was a bit pointless imo.

purpleme12 · 23/03/2021 00:29

I always wonder what a mentor actually does. What it actually involves hour by hour...

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/03/2021 21:35

E5 on tomorrow night

Multi millionaire property investor Yao and his best friend swap their luxury lifestyle with Jodie and her family who live off £53 a week

Think that is the lowest amount weekly 😥😥😥

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 28/03/2021 21:04

Jodieson!!

And no pictures and no curtains!!

purpleme12 · 28/03/2021 21:06

It's mentoring again

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/03/2021 22:40

Will watch tomorrow but seems whole series is mentoring

Wonder if ch4 put in ads want free mentors in turn fir free tv advertising to get rich families

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 28/03/2021 22:46

I don't really get the whole mentoring thing in general.
It seems to me that the mentor must just be saiyng supposedly motivating phrases to the person he's mentoring and mentoring always comes across like working in a cheesy sales company to me. i don't know if it's just me who thinks like this and gets this impression
