When's it on? I want to make sure I don't accidentally switch over and see any of it!

Pebbledashery · 24/02/2021 21:07

It's on now.. BBC 1. I'm not impressed.
He's annoying AF on cookery programs.. But he's just sold out monumentally doing this sh*t

It’s the weird ... pauses... and emphasis ... on ... weird parts of the ... sentence.

Pebbledashery · 24/02/2021 21:11

These contestants seem dim as well.

The BBC really will put any tripe on the TV won't they 🙄

Desperate times

Stellaris22 · 24/02/2021 21:14

Must be desperate. Boring game show by a boring person https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/feb/23/gordon-ramsay-restaurants-covid?CMP=ShareiOSAppp_Other

Sparklingbrook · 24/02/2021 21:17

I wasn't aware there was a shortage of game shows. They are on all afternoon in the daytime and there's some shockers. Not sure we need a primetime one hosted by GR.

Pebbledashery · 24/02/2021 21:17

I guess the restaurant biz has taken a hit so he has to do something. This is so Cringe to watch.

@sparklingbrook can't beat a bit of countdown 🤣

I really feel for him. The hospitality industry has been decimated. I know more than a dozen people who’ve taken up jobs that they ordinarily would not have just to make ends meet or to keep up their feeling if contributing and helping their mental health.

So though I might not watch it, I appreciate anyone who needs to take up any old job at the moment.

Or Tipping Point. Sad Grin

Pebbledashery · 24/02/2021 21:20

Notwithstanding the fact he's a multi millionaire or anything...

I don't think that's what is happening here TBH...

@sparklingbrook or Tenable 🤣

Hosting a game show as a known celebrity is a very different situation to the waiting staff, cleaners etc who work in his restaurants.

Pebbledashery · 24/02/2021 21:22

The contestants are actually more annoying than GR tbh. I don't even understand what's going on 🤣

OP posts:
Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 24/02/2021 21:23

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat I may be wrong but didnt he make a load of staff redundant or furloughed to save money and then disappeared off to his second home?
I'm not sure him hosting a game show and being paid a huge fee is equivalent to non celebrities having to take any old job

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 24/02/2021 21:23

Multimillionaires usually have incredibly high outgoings, plus needing to stay liquid to ensure the jobs of all his staff are secure for when they can reopen. It wouldn’t be just him affected if his businesses collapse.

I hate that one. It gives me the rage! There's one called Lightning too that's really baffling and annoying.

I don’t know anything of his situation, I’m simply saying lots of people have had to take up jobs they wouldn’t ordinarily have to because of covid.

You feel bad for a millionaire who sacked a large number of staff so they couldn’t claim furlough?!
