I was finding it quite boring but was busy taking through theories about the doctor's involvement to my partner then suddenly pattern was like "oh that's why he got the pendant in his others brother's effects" and bam! The end.

I'm guessing his wife ran away from him and isn't dead too.

Yeah it was a good twist but I'm on the fence about whether it is gripping enough and written well enough to keep my attention.

The now dead brother was trying to get the old investigation up again too but isn't the killer or kidnapper. At least that's what I made of it.
