Oh, @Rhubarb01. How last century!
They wouldn't get chance to play with their gadgets and gizmos if they did that.
"Just get the ladders out the van son", just doesn't convey the same tension as a straightened coathanger with camera on the end!🤣🤣🤣

JaneJeffer · 21/02/2021 23:31

Why use the number plates to lure the police to the kidnapped man if the bomb was a fake? How thick was the hotel owner not to notice his plates were different?

This just reminds me of the really tragic story of Jean McConville, murdered by the IRA and found years later buried in a beach just across the border in the Republic. Such a sad time in Ireland's history.

And there are quite a few more like her, including some who still haven't been found.

I quite enjoyed it. Nice scenery. Accents (I'm a sucker for an accent). Iconic Belfasty industrial relics.

I hope it picks up though. I was looking forward to this as it's a Jed production. Don't disappoint us Jed!

Pat Keenan as a ladies' man though? Nah.

LadyEloise · 22/02/2021 09:22

Just in case you didn't know- Goliath is the nickname given to one of the two iconic yellow H and W cranes in Belfast's docklands. The other one is called Samson. Harland and Wolff are shipbuilders/ repairers. They built the Titanic.
Possibly someone earlier on the thread mentioned this, if so apologies, I didn't see it.

Cocolapew · 22/02/2021 09:35

I enjoyed it, though DH did spend the whole episode figuring out where each place was and moaning about accents, even though we live in NI Confused

VampireTheBuffetSlayer · 22/02/2021 10:47

Oh god it was so predictable. I don't know if I'll bother watching next week. And do we have to have another drama around a dead woman?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2021 10:51

Sure I replied to this last night but maybe didn’t post

Can’t R.E.M. what I wrote now 😂

But along the lines that I thought it was ok drama

Love the Irish accent

Agree they would check the window

But then couldn’t use their gadget 😂😂

Typical older man. White vest and pants

Obv the necklace is a big clue but also anyone could be wearing it so may not be his wife

There were 4 missing. How many bodies were found !!
I think it isn't the wife.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 22/02/2021 11:57

I thought there were only 3 bodies in the hole.

Who was the white haired guy they spoke to and how did they know about him? (Had to go and put my dd to bed.)

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2021 12:00

Think he was the Brother of one who died

I don’t think it’s her

TheLaughingGenome · 22/02/2021 12:38

I thought there were 4 bodies in the grave?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/02/2021 12:49

I seem to be virtually alone here, but I enjoyed it! Always good to see Ser Barristan Selmy again (Ian McElhinney, also the grandfather in Derry Girls, was in The Fall as well).

Was that the same (presumably former) police station they used to film The Fall? It seemed familiar. (Binged on The Fall a few months ago.)

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2021 12:57

I liked it @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

Cocolapew · 22/02/2021 12:57

I don't think it's going to be his wife either.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/02/2021 13:03

Just you and me, Blondes!

Good thinking all those who are wondering if the necklace is a red herring. I wasn't sure if there were three or four bodies in the pit. I could see three, but there was room for another one underneath.

JaneJeffer · 22/02/2021 13:04

I thought there was three bodies.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/02/2021 13:04

I would have binged the rest, but I see I can't. Pah. Makes this thread safe from spoilers, though.

You wouldn’t binge 😱😱😂😂

Weekly watching means we can throw ideas about

Wait with baits breath 😂😂

I enjoyed it too!

There was a lot going on, a bit too much for one episode which is very rare as usually these things are dragged out forever. But I'll definitely be watching the remaining 3 episodes.

I'm surprised so few people like it. At this stage of lockdown something new and fresh is very welcome!

DuncinToffee · 22/02/2021 13:39

I quite enjoyed it even if it is a bit predictable. Not sure why they didn't explore the island a bit more in the first place and I also counted 3 bodies.

Do we think Twomey is going to be the dodgy boss or is that just too obvious?

Surely way too obvious!

Too obvious, unless they want us to think it's too obvious Grin
