The storylines and characters have steadily got sillier and sillier over the past few years and I am trying to think of one character who has not had some massive trauma in their lives (that includes the children!) but I think my real favourite person in that street is Dev, His overacting should get him a special category award as he is so bad he is good.
For all the daft and unrealistic storylines I would not like to see Corrie finish.
They have had some wonderful villains and the best in my view was Phelan! He played the baddie so well! In his younger acting days he played a porter in a hospital soap (can't remember the name) and he was a nice chap. Long may Corrie continue,

While on the subject of Gary's "shop" which Fizz worked in and presumably got paid a wage, unless it was some kind of tardis type building was it not just a lock up garage or shed with a couple of tatty old sofas and a few niknaks lying around? How anyone could have made any money running a business like that, never mind pay someone to sit in a freezing draughty shed while waiting for passing trade, well it was a stupid set up in the first place.

It was a front to his money lending business wasn’t it. Though since he hacked it in I do wonder why he’s kept it!

It's sad it has got so poor, regardless of Covid restrictions, the storylines are crap - little do-dah who couldn't lift a matchbox unaided, helping Ty lug around carpets, and Billy and his juicer...evil Todd lurking in plain sight. Leanne cured by a bloody feather. Carla mooning around with her fuzzy felt eyebrows. Load of rubbish.

I'm sulking cos Peter's obvs not in it and it doesn't look like we'll be seeing him for some time.

I watch Classic Corrie too, it's a million miles better, and makes crap Corrie look so poor. Right now I'm feeling sorry for Fred, because his missus has buggered off to Germany with Kev's dad. I say, buggered off to Germany with Kev's dad.

The eavesdropping baddie that only viewers can see has become a soap convention, as if custom makes it less bloody irritating. It doesn't.
I imagine somebody will eventually wonder why Jack hasn't been picked up from school/ whichever not-upstairs place he's supposed to be, and ring up, sending SuperAbby to the rescue. Unless he is actually upstairs, in which case it might take him a few months to emerge.

I was watching The Crown last night; it was the episode where Prince Philip has a midlife crisis because he’s not an astronaut (it almost makes sense if you watch it). If you’re wondering where I’m going with this, it made me think that the whole thing about Tyrone being boring/predictable was the beginning of HIS midlife crisis - which obviously means he’ll have to prove he’s still young and spontaneous by sleeping with Alina. Although god only knows what’s in it for her; unless we’re being reminded she was once a human trafficking victim because it’s going to be a case of ‘He is first man is nice to me and is not making me do pedicures for tuppence a week’.

(Also, was there anything really that amusing about the predictability of Tyrone’s routine? A mechanic being under a car - hardly surprising.)

Surely Abi would notice Kevin's car is still there? Or has Jack gone camping on his own?

To be fair Jack is starting to look old enough to get served in the Rovers even though he’s only meant to be 10 (at least he was when we last saw him before covid, he probably looks older than Kevin now!) so he’s probably fine camping on his own. DP and I are enjoying guessing which kids will be back with new heads once covid restrictions allow them back on set.

If Ty ends up having an affair with Alina I am going to be very cross. They are showing Fizz as a fishwife whilst Alina is a sweet girl all grateful for Ty's business expertise. Ty with business expertise hahaha. As if Alina would, no.

Yep. That was exactly my thought too. They’re so predictable.

I think Jack had gone camping with his school or football club or something because originally Kevin wasn’t going to go so he’ll be already camping with them.

Johnny seeing things which are not there is becoming boring already. Gary is doing ok in prison though. He manages to have perfectly styled hair all the time. Is that normal in prison? I have never been a guest at her majesty's. He doesn't need to impress the ladies in there.
Just want to add my agreement that the Classic Corries are way better albeit rather corny. Corny can be good though,

I know she is probably long retired from acting but I would love to see Bet Lynch come back for even a short time. She would sort out the present flaky characters!

Have to say (and just my opinion) I hated Bet Lynch in Corrie... was so fed up when she came back after retiring. She just used to grate on me big time.

Loved Raquel, she was one of my faves. And Derek and Mavis, who remembers them. The actor who played Derek also ran a toy shop in Covent Garden. I'm sure he appreciated me saying 'Hello Derek' to him when I went in. He won't have heard that before I'm sure!.
