Cant find a link to it on ITV but it is 2 years later than the first series and our dodgy heroine has been demoted. And then ...

I have a vague memory of the first series (recently reshown) but there is a recap here. www.heart.co.uk/showbiz/tv-movies/the-bay-series-one-recap-what-happened-end/

And please if anyone has watched episode 1 currently available on ITV hub please dont post any spoilers until after it is screen tonight! Thanks

The brother is the sergeant from Shetland. Took me a while to place him without his Shetland accent

Crookairroad · 21/01/2021 19:52

I’ve just binge watched the lot.

stumbledin · 21/01/2021 20:11

SophieB100 - thanks - so her "crime" wasn't so much the one night stand (if you can even call it that - ugh) but that she then destroyed evidence to cover it up. ie no betraying of her husband.

Crookairroad - sssssssssssssssssssh!!

@Dontbetardy

Is it a new thing for all episodes to be available immediately? The whole box set is on and I am watching episode 2. Same with Finding Alice.
They said on an advert for both these that as we are staying at home they've released box sets.

I actually thought that was a good idea until I realised by jumping ahead to episode 2 of finding Alice I now need to find something else to do this Sunday 🤦‍♀️🤣

itsgettingweird · 21/01/2021 20:21

@SophieB100

I just watched the first episode and thought it was good - already preferring it to the first series. Mark the brother and his wife (who was Zoe in Casualty - you know who I mean) know more than they're letting on I think. No, we didn't see her husband in first series, they had already split - hence her having the one night stand (well up against the pub wall!) with the twins' step dad.
Thankyou!!!! I kept thinking I remembered the sound of her voice and knew she looked older than when I'd seen the actress before and couldn't replace her.

Of course it's Zoe.

Shame we don't have Max to watch in this too Wink

LadyCatStark · 21/01/2021 20:41

We haven’t watched it as a box set as we want to keep something to look forward to 😂😂😂.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/01/2021 20:56

@itsgettingweird that’s why I don’t bi be

Something to look forward to 😂😂

SophieB100 · 22/01/2021 01:18

Yes @stumbledin, the night she had her bit of fun up against the wall, was the forty minutes or so that was unaccounted for in the twins' stepdads whereabouts - she deleted the CCTV - which was later recovered and they top police guy and the team saw her leave the pub with him.

@itsgettingweird - yes I hate it too when I can't place where I've seen someone before, it distracts me from the plot!

Teenminds · 23/01/2021 19:22

I binged the first series of this over Xmas, so been looking forward to this. Episode one was good, the brother in law seems dodge.

bloodyhairy · 24/01/2021 03:57

I watched the first series (with the twins) and enjoyed it. Second series with the solicitor family seems a bit slower, but definitely still seems worth a watch.
I do not understand why Lisa didn't approach her boss about having sex with Sean at the very start Hmm
And I'm glad her mum has moved out for the second series, as what woman in her 30s needs to be woken up in the morning by her mother?! ConfusedDefinitely a codependency going on there.
Also enjoyed playing 'Spot the Soap Actor'. Grin So far I have Hollyoaks, EastEnders and Corrie covered. I don't watch the others, so don't know about them!

SusannaSpider · 24/01/2021 12:12

I've binge watched the lot. Loved it. I used to live nearby and love location spotting. Also love Morven's accent, she does a good job ( it's my accent too), presumably her natural accent is Scottish?

jay55 · 24/01/2021 19:11

In the first series, the teens were getting into terrible, dangerous trouble, delivering drugs and stealing. Both in huge need of a parent.
Yet she's still working all hours and letting them raise themselves.
I was constantly adjusting my judgy pants.

ageingdisgracefully · 24/01/2021 22:06

Thanks to poster who figured that the lawyer brother was Sandy from Shetland. I couldn't figure it! Took me ages as well to figure that Jonas Armstrong was abused boy from Line of Duty.

Bingeing a bit and already preferring S2 to S1.

Think that’s what she had her mum there

Help and Childcare

ageingdisgracefully · 25/01/2021 07:52

I quite like the fact that Morven Christie's character is not particularly likeable, or sympathetic.

SusannaSpider · 25/01/2021 08:48

I didn't find her unlikeable, quite the opposite really. Just human, flawed and fighting to keep her head above water like lots of us.

bloodyhairy · 25/01/2021 10:12

I liked her a lot too. She was a natural at her job, and so convincing in the role.
However she had a hard side too. Remember when she denied to Sean's face that she had ever been with him?!
She came across much better in S2, and had upped her parenting too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/01/2021 19:22

Nice to have things Sunday tue and wed at 9pm

Hope e2 is better tomorow

TheRealLadyWhistledown · 27/01/2021 12:35

Enjoying this so far. Watched the first two last night.

The kids dad was in Doc Martin wasn’t he? And that other drama last year maybe Levi something?

Is the sons friend one of Devs twins from Corrie?

LadyCatStark · 27/01/2021 23:31

It made me laugh when Abby said that her dad had only taken them for a picnic on a windy beach by a nuclear power station; we’re bloody grateful for that these days. In fact that’s how DS spent his birthday in 2020 🙈😂.

DH was mostly concerned about the parking tickets they’ll get for parking all over the prom! 😂

SusannaSpider · 27/01/2021 23:59

That would be Half Moon Bay then? There were a few of Abbey's one liners that made me laugh.

SophieB100 · 28/01/2021 07:06

I'm enjoying this far more than the first series.
Yes, one of the lads is Dev's son in Corrie. And I love Joe Absolom, god I remember him as a very young actor in Eastenders (Matthew, I think he was). I've seen him playing very dark roles in other dramas, and he's great.
Looking forward to next weeks.

RandomMess · 28/01/2021 07:26

Could have been by Half Moon or perhaps he pushed the boat out and went the other side to Middleton Sands?

LadyCatStark · 28/01/2021 08:04

Yeah or we like to go down to the end of the nature reserve.
