@TellingBone

Nina's been written so far as a character worldly wise beyond her years.

A more believable and relatable storyline than a lesbian relationship would be if she recognised that Asha has a crush on her and gently guides her into understanding her confusing emotions, whichever direction they take her in.

Totally this! It would restore a lot of faith in the writers if they would do this.
eggandonion · 03/02/2021 11:41

I really don't understand why her father had to die, it would have been nice for Roy to have family to visit. There's just too much tragedy. And she could have a relationship with Seb, if he's currently single.
Its also time for someone to go to prison, its several weeks since anyone was in prison.

willFOURbagsbeenough · 03/02/2021 11:49

Yes she could have still come to work with Roy without having to lose her father and moving in with Roy. Also, did she complete her college course? She was doing sewing wasn’t she? Roy lent her hayleys sewing machine.

@Roussette

I'm so disappointed that Nina and Alya are going down the girl romantic route. Would've just liked a friendship. I know it's unusual on Corrie and I know we've said it before!
100 % agree What happened to those strong friendships that made corrie? They need to start building strong long time story lines that develop gradually Oh and bring back some humour, it's become very dull & depressing

Especially given that Asha lost her mother at a young age. It would be relatable if she developed an attachment to a confident, slightly older girl and interpreted it as more than it was.

@Roussette

I was warming to Nina briefly. I've gone right off her again. It's almost like she's manipulating Asha into a relationship. Don't like it.
Yes predatory. Not liking it
StillCoughingandLaughing · 03/02/2021 12:59

What happened to those strong friendships that made corrie?

Definitely agree on this. Where is the modern day equivalent of Sally and Gail in the classic episodes - or even Carla and Michelle? (I know Sally and Gail are obviously still friends, but I’m thinking of a next generation.)

There are surely some options in the current cast. Shona and Abi seem like obvious mates to me. Eileen and Aggie maybe?

It won't be long before Deidre goes in Classic Corrie.
The Mr Kipling ad was played during Classic Corrie on catch up!

Iwantacampervan · 03/02/2021 13:02

Or Deirdre even.

willFOURbagsbeenough · 03/02/2021 13:05

I know Sally and Gail are obviously still friends

They are but I can’t remember the last time I actually saw them having a friend style conversation.

Silenceisgolden20 · 03/02/2021 15:13

Why can't Nic pay the electric bill? It'll be an accural won't it? When he was living there.
Stupid storyline.
Poor Simon Hmm

I've got to watching this Grin

Silenceisgolden20 · 03/02/2021 15:14

Stop watching!

eggandonion · 03/02/2021 15:22

Does Peter pay anything to Leanne for Simon's living expenses when he is there - he hangs out in the pub sometimes. Simon, Peter, Carla seem to move around a lot. Not to mention Adam, Sarah, Seb, Nick, Harry son of Sean...does anyone actually live anywhere? Billy should have moved to the Archdeacon house and rented rooms.

PennyRoyal · 03/02/2021 15:49

I've kind of lost track of who is living where these days.

Where is Seb? If Alina has moved in with Fizz/Tyrone and Emma moved into pub, where's he gone?
And Sarah & Adam, are they in one of the flats that Leanne/Nick and Gary/Maria are in?

Who is above the cab office? It is it empty now Liz has gone and it was being sold to Ray?
Is there a flat above Tracy's shop?
Did Norris and Rula stay at the retirement place?
Assume Nick is staying at his ex's flat (wherever that might be) with his long list son.
Oh, and the flat above the builders yard - who's in there now? I assume Toyah and Imran plus PC Tinker? Did Aliya and DJ boy move back in with Gran Yazmeen when she came home?

eggandonion · 03/02/2021 16:16

Maybe it would have been easier if ray had knocked it all down and we could start again.

lollipoprainbow · 03/02/2021 16:16

Think Seb is living with Kev and Abi, yes that's it Nina is predatory ! Find it uncomfortable viewing actually.

eggandonion · 03/02/2021 16:24

So Seb and Jack are there? Upstairs, playing their tapes.
Nail girl is wandering around upsetting Tyrone, Faye is with Sally and Tim. Is Debbie?
Where is Gary , is he sleeping in his business premises or in Maria's place?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 03/02/2021 16:28

Also, so many of the residences have grown over the years. When Bet and Alec had the Rovers they had a room, Vicky had one and then Racquel took the spare. Now an unlimited number seem to live there.

Similarly, when Denise got pregnant with Daniel she wanted to leave the salon flat as it was only a one-bed. Yet in recent years Maria and little Liam lived there with at least two flatmates!

Akire · 03/02/2021 16:37

Nina is very wise and old although not sure if she had her 18th yet? Either way she may only be just 2y older than Asha but years emotional. That would just be creepy.

Why can’t Nina go work in the factory least part time. I’d be depressed working in cafe all day and not the job I trained for.

I think Imran Toyah are in the flat with 3 other adults. Not a room swing a cat never mind a foster child

Honeyroar · 03/02/2021 16:42

Someone would make a fortune opening a hostel on that street!

Akire · 03/02/2021 16:45

*note Never swing a foster child Grin

The pub was a BnB wasn’t it?

willFOURbagsbeenough · 03/02/2021 16:46

note Never swing a foster child Grin

😂

Silenceisgolden20 · 03/02/2021 16:48

And has anyone seen Liam lately?Grin

willFOURbagsbeenough · 03/02/2021 16:59

I was about to ask “who is Liam?” Shock

Eeeeeeeeeeeek · 03/02/2021 17:07

Has the fostering story been ditched completely now , there's no mention of it since baby blahblah left
i thought it meant the world to Toyah
