Ken informed the family he'd changed his mind about selling No 1 after the retirement home debacle. Tracey wasn't chuffed.
Mention of Evelyn reminded me that I've previously moaned that the show needs an Ena/Phyllis/Blanche tough, no-nonsense and often comical in their bluntness northern woman type. [I've known many of them in my own life and Corra has always written them very well]. Well, I wonder whether Evelyn was meant to fill this 'gap'? If so, much as I like her character, it doesn't work because she has an emotional, vulnerable side. Nothing wrong with that but I'd still like to see such a character.
