I love it when Ken gets angry too! He's fantastic for his age.

WINKINGatyourage · 27/01/2021 20:50

@thenightsky

Paul just said he's in court next week and might get sent down. Have I missed some crime he committed? I have no memory of anything.
Remember the teenager Todd paid to pretend he had an abusive stepdad? Well Paul went to the address the boy gave him and was seen breaking in, the man who lived there tracked him down and confronted him, Paul accused him of abusing his wife and stepson, the man denied if and goaded Paul so Paul hit him.

Big Jim the bouncer so he is. Grin

WINKINGatyourage · 27/01/2021 20:55

Debbie is totally going to screw Ray over. How will she do it? She’ll get everything signed over to her, take everyone’s money and leave him languishing in the bedsit. Or hand him over to the police.

thenightsky · 27/01/2021 20:55

WINKINGatyourage Thank you!

ProseccoForever · 27/01/2021 20:56

Gail's become a caricature of herself and alway looks like she's power walking with her little elbows sticking out! Grin

Pebbledashery · 27/01/2021 20:56

Ken is such a gentleman

WeeWillyWanky · 27/01/2021 21:05

Can some kind soul please summarise the second episode to save me the bother of watching, please.

RainbowCake · 27/01/2021 21:58

Did Ken say Bastard in that clip?Shock
Well I never!

I can't remember the last time I gave Corrie my full attention, it's very bitty and I don't think covid is to blame.

Carla read Peter’s goodbye letter out loud to Simon to try to shock him into action. It didn’t work and Peter disappeared off to get pissed. Ken found him, somewhat improbably, in Ray’s hotel bar (presumably to avoid the stage manager having to erect another set). Ken poured Peter’s drink down the drain, so Peter thumped him. That DID shock him into action, especially because it’s 50 years to the day since Valerie Barlow electrocuted herself with her own hairdryer. He’s getting help but won’t forgive Carla for the letter.

Elsewhere, Gail has discovered him out of Benidorm is her long-lost very distant cousin. She and Eileen had a bit of a bitch at each other for no apparent reason and Mary joined in to support Eileen. Aggie and Grace pretended to like each other but don’t. Debbie has got Abi on side and has signed the garage back over to Kev. And for some reason Todd wants to give Billy his new boyfriend’s piano. (Not a euphemism. An actual piano.)

Thank you very much StillCoughingandLaughing for that comprehensive overview of events. I can now devote the saved 30 minutes of my life to a much worthwhile cause, like organising the cat food cupboard.

I remember when Mike Baldwin referred to Ernest Bishop's killers as bastards and I was utterly shocked as I was 10 at the time, and the worst swear word my mom or dad had ever uttered was 'sodding' or 'bleeding' and that was when they thought I was out of earshot.
StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/01/2021 22:12

The last ‘bastard’ I remember on Corrie was when Toyah realised her neighbour was her rapist.

That proves I'm zoning out. I didn't see that scene at all.

eggandonion · 27/01/2021 22:32

I heard part of the piano thing, but I just ignored it. I really wish I lived there, lots of normal life.

JiminyLeeCricket · 27/01/2021 23:03

I was waiting for Todd to say 'pianist' with an extra smirk on his smug face.

SophieB100 · 27/01/2021 23:10

I think because there are so few of the cast on set, they are using daft fillers to use up the time - hence the piano stuff, silly Gail, with her hamster cheeks simpering like a teenager, and other stupid stuff.

Peter shouldn't have hit Ken though - much as I luff him, he shouldn't have done that.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 27/01/2021 23:30

Well at least Gail answered my earlier question in this thread that yes her dad is indeed alive and well, cheers Gail!

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 27/01/2021 23:38

Is Eccles really dead?

BenoneBeauty · 27/01/2021 23:46

I thought that too @ZaraCarmichaelshighheels - wonder if that means he'll be making an appearance soon!

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 27/01/2021 23:47

The real Eccles was alive and well a while back, but yes dead in the show.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 27/01/2021 23:55

I’ve been wondering about Ted for a while BeoneBeauty my fantasy Corrie plot line was for him to die and leave Gail his fortune so she could buy back the Platt empire, fill in the sink hole, send Shona to America for radical restorative brain surgery, and for a final flourish, treat the family to a new picture for the front room!
