We’ve seen in the new year with my family as well as they can be - they are back having a bit of a shield and I’m dotting back and fore working and doing messages for my folks and other folks.

Not the start of the year I’d planned but it was expected and we are lucky in our own little way. There is a lot to be grateful for.

There was a lot of talk about those sausages wasn't there? In my house we couldn't decide whether it was significant (e.g. were the locals Muslim and so it was haram and scandalous to think of people cooking
pork?) or was it just considered a funny English quirk to be so into such peculiar things?

I think it's because she'd cooked them for the German monks - we know about their sausage consumption .
