Tim can come over to mine! Doing anything Christmassy with my teen is like getting blood from a stone!

Smallsteps88 · 14/12/2020 21:08

It’s totally ridiculous!

What did Harry say that made Sarah tell him not to say that again ever? I rewound and listened 3 times and it sounded like gibberish Hmm

Clawdy · 14/12/2020 21:38

I rewound too, and it was impossible to understand! Perhaps subtitles were the answer!

Bluebellbike · 14/12/2020 21:39

I think Faye Clobbered Adam. Mistaken identity. She thought it was Ray.

Smallsteps88 · 14/12/2020 21:40

I think Harry said something like “no you didn’t stay in, you went out” but it was absolute gibberish really.

eggandonion · 14/12/2020 21:44

He's only a baby...what age is he? Maybe Gary could go away to get money for speech therapy. I think he did that for Jake or Josh or Jack or another child , and got almost killed.

Fiddlersgreen · 14/12/2020 21:44

I think he said “no you didn’t, mumble mumble, I heard you go out”
Also had to rewind and watch 3 times to get that

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 14/12/2020 21:49

Apparently he is 4 so totally plausible that his speech would be mumbled. But if its not actually understandable they may as well not put it in as it adds nothing.
I thought he said something about Gary, but maybe that was "go out"

Bluebellbike · 14/12/2020 21:53

Harry said "no you weren't I heard you go out." 20 odd years of being a childminder enables that sort of interpretation.

Thank you!

When my son was small he had speech delay and really garbled speech when he did talk. (Very like what Harry said!) Only his brother could understand him. We were forever calling him from around the house to come and translate. Grin

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 14/12/2020 22:04

@Smallsteps88 my speech was awful as a small child. I had speech therapy for a couple of years. Apparently when I started nursery they raised it with my mum who hadn't realised there was an issue because she (and the other adults i saw regularly) could understand me perfectly Grin
Sometimes I have to get my DC to translate my nieces speech because they spend more time with her so understand her better than I do. Well pre-Covid anyway.

Thanks to the PPs who can translate toddler Grin

ivfbabymomma1 · 14/12/2020 22:25

I just YouTubed Robert & carlas real voices and my mind is blown!

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 15/12/2020 00:06

I’m probably being a bit thick here but I’m confused!, Sally had a go at Debbie in the cafe and said she would do everything in her power to stop the development blah blah blah, and then the next thing Sally is talking to Tim and saying Elaine might not want to move to Hale Barnes, has the sale gone through in super quick time or is she just continuing with the sale despite saying she will do everything she can to stop it?

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 15/12/2020 00:09

@bloodyhairy

The roof situation was ridiculous!

And is it just me who thinks that Cathy comes across as slightly unhinged?!

No, she gets right on my wick!
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 15/12/2020 00:11

Also a couple of other things annoyed me, Tim just announcing that he had asked Elaine to move in, no consultation with Sally or Faye at all and last week Elaine was in hospital due to her mental health and now she has completely recovered in super quick time and is helping Yasmeen through her trauma.

MaliceOrgan · 15/12/2020 03:02

Daniel is pissing me off more than normal. He is being SO sanctimonious yet he has also slept with Carla and tried to kill Ken (not to mention stealing money from Geoff and the whole cardigan thing).

I had forgotten Maria had been in prison. Most of the street have been though so it isn't that weird (Deirdre,Tracey, Steve, Steve's dad, Abi, Sally, Gail?, David, Peter?, Jenny for kidnap? Robert, Leanne? Weirdnose Paul, didn't even bloody Izzy get locked up for being a stoner? Yasmeen, surely Fizz just for being Fizz)

MaliceOrgan · 15/12/2020 03:08

Oops, sorry. Mentioned the I word (hadn't noticed the full title) mind you, maybe she did Adam in and will get locked up for good

KodakNancyEurope · 15/12/2020 06:43

And she’s apparently a right dick IRL as well.

KodakNancyEurope · 15/12/2020 06:44

quote fail

The actress that plays Cathy, that is.

Also: once upon a time was married to Sean Bean!

Clawdy · 15/12/2020 08:20

Sally moving to Hale Barns has to be a joke, have you seen the price of property there??!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 15/12/2020 08:23

@Clawdy

I didn't know it was a real place Blush I assumed it was a made up housing estate Grin On Right Move the houses seem to get cheaper the more bedrooms you have Hmm
Clawdy · 15/12/2020 08:41

Hale Barns is described in Wikipedia as one of the most wealthy settlements outside of London! Can just see Tim there......

IamHyouweegobshite · 15/12/2020 09:09

Omg worse dream ever alert! I was on my drive and Ray came running out of my house in his dressing gown, which then proceeded to come undone and he was wearing y fronts. Urghhh I woke up thinking we'll thank God he had pants on! Grim.
