Just been reading about Francesca Jones - she says that her first priority when she gets to Oz is to do some laundry - maybe Sascha should take a leaf out of her book!
When you posted about her Fizzy
I thought ooh if Sascha hears a Yorkshire accent... and now he can give her laundry tips too Grin

JaneJeffer · 14/01/2021 14:17

Stupid bold. Always going wrong on me!

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2021 07:37

I’d not thought about the Yorkshire connection with Francesca and Sascha Jane Grin

Rafa has arrived in Adelaide - he says it’s cold Hmm - bet it’s not as cold as it here mate - we're snowed in!

Raahh · 15/01/2021 08:13

Snowed in is not good, Fizzy. We have had flood warnings the last few days, and woken up to some snow, but fortunately not much.

Poor RafaGrin. Good thing he decided against the sleeveless top this year then (though I doubt it's cold cold- certainly not Paris in October cold).

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2021 08:41

It snowed all day here yesterday and then it froze overnight - not a good combo! There were some scary videos of buses and cars skidding about yesterday so I’m not risking going out!

I think Rafa’s idea of cold is probably a bit different from ours Grin. I’m not sure if I could cope with freakishly cold weather at the AO - although nothing can be ruled out in these strange times!

Raahh · 15/01/2021 08:51

A quick google told me it was about 19 degrees in Adelaide, which is definitely shorts weather for Manchester Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2021 08:52

Positively tropical for here Grin

Raahh · 15/01/2021 08:57
Grin

This has been a very long week, and I am increasingly worried I won't be watching any of the tennis anyway, thanks to the whole school malarky. 'Live' stuff for dd2 starts Monday. I will probably get to watch the second week of AO- the half term break should coincide with that! Will probably miss most of the ATP cup tooSad.

PrivateSpidey · 15/01/2021 09:23

Sorry to hear about the snow Fizzy - definitely sounds like a day for staying inside if possible!

Poor Rafa eh - 19C indeed!! Grin I didn't know he wasn't going sleeveless in Melbourne - I think he should bring back the napkin top Grin

It's brilliant about Francesca Jones, was just reading about her on the BBC tennis page.

Raahh · 15/01/2021 09:33

No, sadly Rafa is not bringing back the napkin top, but I read somewhere he's wearing a pink version of the blue kit he wore in Paris(he's very fond of pink, is Rafa, isn't he?). Kit discussions are always a highlight- was it really a year ago that Grigor wore that awful track suit?! Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2021 09:37

Oh I liked the napkin top! Yes Rafa does like wearing pink - I think it’s one of his happy colours Smile

Grigor’s spotty tracksuit/onesie Shock Grin

TottiePlantagenet · 15/01/2021 09:46

Ok, I've come out of lurking because I'm intrigued by this napkin top of Rafa's? Google has been unproductive, please someone show me a lovely image of Rafa to brighten up my week 🙏

On tennis news, sad for Andy Murray that he can't fly yet. There's still a chance he'll get there but just not in time for the pre tournament, isn't there?

Raahh · 15/01/2021 09:50

I think this was it- it looked a bit like a the wavy edges of a table cloth, which is why we called it the napkin top Grin.

Raahh · 15/01/2021 09:50

Not the best picture- he looks a bit cross Grin.

Raahh · 15/01/2021 09:54

He seems to be grimacing in nearly every picture I have looked at of him wearing it Grin- definitely not one of his 'happy' outfits Grin.

Looks a bit happier he, and like he is about to take off.

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2021 09:56

Ah those pictures have cheered me up (even though Rafa looks a bit grumpy!) the top is also available in pink!

TottiePlantagenet · 15/01/2021 10:09

Ah OK, thank you @Raahh. I mis read your post and was hoping a third photo of Rafa sans top... Grin

Raahh · 15/01/2021 10:40

Ahh now, pictures sans top would be very nice (and definitely cheer me up).

Primary school maths is once again making me want to cry. DD2 has missed a lot of school due to illness, and she just doesn't get it- and I am really struggling to get through to her at all. She is getting so behind. Sad.

magimedi · 15/01/2021 11:21

Tottie Lovely to see you de lurking.

If you hang around I can give you a picture of a (nearly) naked Andrew Castle.

I don't post them very often as everyone else on here gets over excited when I do Wink Grin

magimedi · 15/01/2021 11:23

Raah Sorry to hear about the maths. Would one of your older ones be able to help her? It could make them feel very grown up & one over on Mum!!

TottiePlantagenet · 15/01/2021 11:57

Thanks for the welcome magi but I'll have to run for cover again if you come through with those pictures, yikes!

raahh hugs for the home schooling, it's so difficult for our youngsters at the moment (not that it's easy for everyone week else obviously...)

Raahh · 15/01/2021 12:02

magi unfortunately, DD1 has a full day of online lessons (and even less patience than me), and ds is at work. I wish I was at work. I have messaged the teacher to tell her my concerns- I have now discovered the test they sent home had all sorts of stuff on it that they haven't even covered yet. So no wonder she couldn't do it. I do need to relax a bit though- it's making me ill.

Tottie thank you- and welcome! And yes, the pictures of AC are...something else.Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2021 12:07

magi nooooooo! Grin

Yes Tottie welcome - good to know that you appreciate topless Rafa and not topless Andrew Castle - you’re in the right place Grin

Flowers for home schooling Raahh and especially maths - could your DD get a bit of extra help from school as she’s missed so much?

Raahh · 15/01/2021 13:21

Fizzy the teacher is going to send some different work home next week, and see how she gets on. She might respond better when they start the 'live' stuff next week. It's really only maths that is a big blind spot- she's ahead really in everything else.Which is lucky!

I'm very glad it's Friday though Grin- and that I'm only dealing with one primary aged dc! Not so long back, I would have had 3 in infants/primary at the same time. Which is the case for a few of her friends. I'd be bald by now. and an alcoholic .

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2021 14:16

Hi Tottie the napkin top was named after someone's nan's napkins which they posted a photo of Grin

Good luck with the maths Raahh. DS2's year head said not to worry about the exams this year as allowances will be made but I haven't told him that or he wouldn't do a thing!
