5.30pm ITV1 (before the rugby) then results at 10pm (after the rugby)

I only watch tv once a year and that is to watch X Factor (I know I am sad, and should get out more...) but who is going to join me in this bundle of weekly fun?

Alex Parks is doing panto in Colchester this Christmas....

Raahh · 10/12/2007 21:00

Panto!! Well, i'm sure her artistic integrity is intact then!!

MummyPenguin · 10/12/2007 22:35

When did Niki say "there's nobody who sings like me in this competition Simon?" Was that on Saturday's show? If so, I completely missed that or I would have lobbed something at the telly.

My Sis pointed out that during Sarah SD 'crying' there were no actual tears... Yes on the VT there were, but not at the end of their performance of 'never had a fream come true' when they were talking to Dermot. Despite that, be it as it may, I quite like them, they're too genuinely nice people, they're very good at what they do and they're quite good entertainment. I'd like to see them do well as they probably deserve it. I applaud Rhydian for being the only one in this competition (now I sound like Louis) without a sob story. He's there for one reason, to sing and perform and he's bloody brilliant at it and must surely win.

MummyPenguin · 10/12/2007 22:36

fream? dream even

MummyPenguin · 10/12/2007 22:37

two nice people

allIWannaBeForChristmas · 10/12/2007 22:43

if I remember rightly, Alex parkes was originally a clown. .

christmosschops30 · 11/12/2007 20:42

yes mummypenguin after she sang the first song and all the judges had commented she went back to simon and said something like 'theres no-one here who sings like me' ..... arrogant and didnt do her any favours. I was glad she went.
she's no way only 35, I'd say 42 and thats with all the slap on, if she's 35 I'm 18

tortoiseSHELL · 11/12/2007 23:42

I just watched the Rhydian version of Somebody to Love on youtube, and I just don't like it at all! Compare this by Queen to this by Rhydian. No comparison in my opinion, even if the judges do think Freddie would have loved it - I don't feel any connection with him when he's singing.

tortoiseSHELL · 11/12/2007 23:44

IF it was a song in a musical, then yes, I could understand the Rhydian version. I wonder if it came off better in the studio, because over youtube it felt very 'mannered' and unnatural. But it's such a great song, that will carry a performance a long way.

Raahh · 13/12/2007 22:48

Sharon Osbourne on Graham Norton was really spiteful about Dannii, it was very funny. I wonder if they will keep Dannii on next series- since she was only ever there because originally Louis Walsh was given the boot?

tortoiseSHELL · 13/12/2007 22:57

I don't think that's strictly true - wasn't Louis replaced by Brian whatshisname? He was originally a judge, and was then removed, and replaced by LW.

missgriss · 13/12/2007 23:00

Isn't David Sneddon a millionaire now? He's a songwriter apparantly.....

Raahh · 14/12/2007 19:06

Songs for the final- again am very that i will miss seeing this live- another flippin Christmas do!!

Rhydian is singing my all time favourite Christmas song, o, holy night. I am put off by his duet with Katherine jenkins though, who i can't stand. And Leon and Kylie???? WTF. I have no comment on the painful same Difference, their songs are very predictable for their genre.

Same Difference
Christmas Song - All I Want For Christmas Is You
Favourite Song - Breaking Free
Duet with Jason Donovan: Any Dream Will Do

Rhydian Roberts
Christmas Song - O Holy Night
Favourite Song -Somewhere
Duet with Katherine Jenkins: You Raise Me Up

Leon Jackson
Christmas Song - White Christmas
Favourite Song - You Don?t Know Me
Duet with Kylie Minogue: Better The Devil You Know

It should be good.

Go Rhydian!!!

anniebear · 14/12/2007 20:00

brilliant , thanks

My 6 year old will loves SD song choices though!!!!! lol

tortoiseSHELL · 14/12/2007 20:02

SD song choices are definitely geared towards getting that 'tweenager' vote! My kids would vote for them, had our telly not exploded this afternoon!

Raahh · 14/12/2007 20:11

tortoiseshell!

tortoiseSHELL · 14/12/2007 21:15

was quite dramatic - smoke poured out as it went bang. Kids are v annoyed, and keep lamenting 'no tv for xmas'
