######## X Factor live shows start tonight ######

5.30pm ITV1 (before the rugby) then results at 10pm (after the rugby)

I only watch tv once a year and that is to watch X Factor (I know I am sad, and should get out more...) but who is going to join me in this bundle of weekly fun?

Rhydian scares me silly, and I can't stand how his voice is unable to lose that operatic edge.

am i in the minority in not overly ranking Rhydian? he auditioned for Joseph and didn't get very far, He's no Lee Meade thats for sure.

I want sd to win, they're nice and fun and my girls love them but then they're both huge HSM fans.

Niki is just so bland really, good singer but like others have said she nothing different.

but not getting very far doesn't mean no good. Lots of acts audition and lots don't even get to see the judges - even very good ones, so not getting through isn't necessarily an indication of talent as the producers generally only put acts through that will make for good telly, ie with a sob story to tell for instance.

In order for the really bad ones to be seen on telly, some of the really good ones will have been bypassed.

Not every act will be to everyone's taste though, that's why we have a diverse music culture, otherwise the charts would be extremely boring.

But even if Rhydian doesn't have massive chart success and a long-standing music career, he will almost certainly make it on to the west-end stage. IMO the same could not be said of same difference. They have a very limited market, ie the under 12 generation, and when that runs dry (which it will within months) what lies ahead for them? butlins? the holiday resort circuit? they could have achieved that without going on x-factor, in fact Sean had already been a performer on crews ships.

Simon has got his eye onthe HSM market, but Same Difference aren't really going to be that good (and is it just me, or does Sarah seem a bit old to be doing all the bouncy stuff).
For the past few weeks, all we have seen are gimmicks and schmaltz (dragging out the kids choir was the final straw!)- all to detract from their obvious lack of talent. Surely no-one listening to'Any dream will do' thought they were in tune???

and 3 more years????? I really can't see how they are going to refresh the format, and keep going that long.

Question- my sister has Shayne Wards album, my niece has Leona's, does any one know ANYONE who bought Steve Brooksteins cd?

Same difference always catch my attention as does Rydian but my mind wanders when leon and niki are singing. She bores me and i think she is getting a bit big headed lately. Leon is sweet but boring. Rydian is amazing and i like that he has no sob story. Same difference will be adored by kids and i like that they piss louis off.

Rhydian has to win. He is the only one that has real talent IMO. It doesn't matter whether he's had vocal training or not, you he was shit to begin with, vocal training wouldn't have been able to make him that good so he had to have had talent to start with.
