Well, a lot of soap scriptwriters seem to have this idea that gay males are all introspective, over-emotional, troubled etc, and that's how they're portraying Arthur at the moment.

It was discovered Daniel was a carrier of the cystic fibrosis gene. Mel Doland, Daniel’s real mother, turned out to also be a carrier. I’m sure there was more to it to get her so suspicious, but that’s the bit I remember.
