It's been such a strange year for us all but never more so than for the people of the dales, what will Christmas and the New Year episodes bring...........some lighthearted relief I hope but probably not.

What's this ridiculous reaction from Vinnie saying Mandy hadn't been trying? It just doesn't hang together as a likely reaction.

I hate these Emmerdale 'bundled into a vehicle' storylines. The writers seem to have no other ideas.

TellingBone · 16/02/2021 19:34

Oh wait though. If they're doing old familiar fallbacks then Charity could do her 'nick a fancy car and sell it' schtick and get back in everyone's good books. Ta-dah!

I know Rishi is harmless, but by God, what does Manpreet see in him?

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 16/02/2021 19:57

His bank balance.

ellenanora5 · 16/02/2021 21:30

Oh my god, Paul being bundled into a van just as Mandy comes along (as if)

Vinnie is annoying me speaking to Mandy like that, has he conveniently forgotten that his so called Dad has kicked forty shades out of him at least twice and frightened him more times than a little.

Was just going to post Debbie/Cameron/Chas..........and she was trying to get into Als' boxers not too long ago so she should shut up.

Virtually a whole episode of Mandy shouting and bawling and overacting.
Why is Vinny doing everything he can to free Paul who has been a shit dad and child beater?
Please keep Paul. Nobody IRL likes or cares about him.
Possibly the worst episode in recent history and there have been a fair few stinkers to choose from Confused

excelledyourself · 16/02/2021 22:59

Lisa Riley was on This Morning today saying how the writers give her such great storylines, and how honoured she is to work with Reece Wotshisface. I think she may have used the word "legendary". Seemed a nice enough woman, but certainly delusional.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 16/02/2021 23:11

I think it’s probably more of a case of wanting to keep her job than delusional tbh.

I actually think she’d make a great TV presenter. I don’t think she’d be stuck for work if she left Emmerdale. Not sure what she did between the two stints she’s done in it.

TellingBone · 16/02/2021 23:24

Lisa was good when she presented You've Been Framed and came over as a really nice lass on Strictly. She seems to have an engaging personality IRL and I think is more suited to presenting than acting.

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2021 01:24

I have come to the conclusion that any random person on the internet can come up with better stories than the Emmerdale storyliners.

Emmerdale with social distant acting, it's not great but better than nothing.....
SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 17/02/2021 09:14

Yesterday’s episode was truly awful. Vinnie having a go at Mandy for not doing enough - catch yourself on Vinnnie.

I didn’t mind him as a character before but he has gone from ‘Mandy, you are the best mother in the world who sacrificed everything for me’ to ‘Mandy, you are rubbish because you haven’t yet rescued my abuser’ in the blink of an eye.

RaraRachael · 17/02/2021 13:34

There have been some dire episodes recently, but last night's plumbed new depths. I sincerely hope Paul will be found out and shown the door.

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2021 13:38

Nobody cares about Paul so there's no emotional investment from the viewers in his kidnapping. I bet everyone on here was shouting "let them keep him" at the telly last night.

PrincessScarlett · 17/02/2021 14:23

I'm sure they were @JaneJeffer 🤣

Also hate the way Vinnie is behaving to Mandy when he wanted absolutely nothing to do with his dad until he got beaten up.

I'm glad Liv pointed out she doesn't actually have any money to hand.

I think Paul is behind his own kidnapping thinking Liv will stump up the money. I really hope everything get found out soon as Paul is really unpopular with viewers and people will start switching off.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 17/02/2021 19:04

Mandy looks like a wax work figure. Her makeup looks wet!

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2021 19:06

I wish she was as quiet as one.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 17/02/2021 19:07

😂

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 17/02/2021 19:08

How could dawn have booked her day off ages ago when she only started working at the vets last week?

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 17/02/2021 19:11

The talent just blows me away... Hmm

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 17/02/2021 19:22

Jamie is such an absolute scumbag. He literally only speaks nicely to the woman he currently wants to have sex with. Once he has used them he speaks to them like shit. Andrea, Belle and now Gabby. Does dawn forget how he treated her a few weeks ago when he was bullying her into accepting money for sex with him?

excelledyourself · 17/02/2021 19:25

I was in the kitchen and could heard Mandy shrieking and roaring, so I stayed where I was...

But, has Paul set this up? He looked his usual dodgy self when he came back into the house

excelledyourself · 17/02/2021 19:25

Oh, never mind Confused

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 17/02/2021 19:27

That Connor has a terrible hairdo.

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2021 19:28

DS2 walked in when Connor was on and said oh look it's Jack Grealish Grin

TellingBone · 17/02/2021 19:34

Oh gawd please let it be OVER. How long are they dragging this out?

Another thing I've noticed about the current writers, while I'm here. In any given conflict situation, one person is always saying, 'Mandy, please!' 'Kim, please!' 'Rishi, please!' or whomever. Poor scripting.
