It's been such a strange year for us all but never more so than for the people of the dales, what will Christmas and the New Year episodes bring...........some lighthearted relief I hope but probably not.

Luke is good looking? I obviously need a visit to Specsavers Grin

PrincessScarlett · 14/02/2021 12:04

I think Luke only comes across as good looking because we've been without the likes of Robert, Ross and Joe for so long.

TellingBone · 14/02/2021 12:35

Wouldn't have included Luke in any Emmerdale most fanciable list. Nor Robert.

Some past and present visually pleasing [to me] characters: David Metcalfe, Cain, Matthew King, Joe Sugden, Frank, Mark Wylde, Dave Glover. And Graham. Grrraham.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 14/02/2021 12:59

And Graham. Grrraham.

Grin

And Roy glover.

Frank

As in Vanessa and Tracy’s dodgy ‘I was in Dynasty, dontcha know’ dad, or Frank ‘Of course I don’t use henna; my hair is naturally this shade of orange/maroon’ Tate? Shock

Heh. Frank Tracy's Dad not Tate.

There are so many men in 'showbiz' that use that stuff. I remember Paul McCartney trying it for a while but someone must have told him how ridiculous it looked.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 14/02/2021 18:57

Biff was a bit of alright too

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 14/02/2021 19:10

You’ve just reminded me I dreamt about biff last night! He kept switching between biff and someone from home and away that was in it years ago. And then I realised they were both there. Biff had his motorbike. Grin

JaneJeffer · 14/02/2021 22:02

I bet it was Shane Grin

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 14/02/2021 22:19

I think it must have been! Grin I couldn’t work out who he was- just that he was from home and away in the 90’s!

RaraRachael · 15/02/2021 11:08

Agree with the list of fanciable men in Emmerdale but sadly most from yesteryear. It must be awful being an actress and having to pretend you fancy some not very attractive guy.

I can't believe the Dingles are basically playing the same old tricks more than 20 years later.

Personally I don't know anybody who's been married 4 times - how on earth do Marlon and Paddy not the prettiest men or blessed with sparkling personalities manage it? I didn't even google how many wives Bob's had - probably about 9 Grin

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/02/2021 11:44

What gets me about the multiple marriages/relationships, particularly with Marlon, there seems to be zero realism or discrimination in the choices of partner (by the scriptwriters as much as Marlon himself!) To the Emmerdale writers, any single woman in a 20-year age bracket is fair game for the next Mrs Marlon. Donna was barely an adult when they married her off to him; Carly was also way younger and more attractive than a girlfriend of Marlon’s would be. Yet barely a few months after losing Carly, Marlon was suddenly smitten with Jessie - a relationship that seemed equally unlikely in many ways, but also as far away from his previous choices as possible. The only common denominator seems to be ‘single and just about in the right age range, at a stretch’.

Ian Beale and Dev of Corrie are the same. Dev is the dumping ground for any Corrie female between 30 and 50 in need of a plot and a love interest.

bonfireheart · 15/02/2021 11:48

It always feels so incestuous on soaps with all the partner swapping. According to British soaps, the hotties who get all the ladies are Phil Mitchell, Ian Beale, Marlon n Paddy!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/02/2021 12:17

When it comes to incestuous, it’s hard to beat David in Emmerdale. Had a fling with his stepsister. Married his former fiancée’s sister, who was pretending to be the mother of her sister’s actual child. Went on to become engaged to a woman who slept with his stepson. Now dating the step-aunt (is that a real relative?) of the mother of his child. Also had relationships with Delilah Dingle and Nicola King, as well as a fling with Katie Sugden. The Bartons and the Spencers are about the only families he hasn’t ‘infiltrated’ - one family where the only living female in the right age bracket transitioned, and the other where two of the adult women (all of whom are now dead) were lesbians.

The only available woman he hasn’t slept with is Debbie Dingle - his real-life wife!

Can the kidnappers keep Paul ?

JaneJeffer · 15/02/2021 19:32

Hope so. I reckon it's a set-up to get Liv's money.

How does an asexual relationship work if only one person is asexual? I don't understand.

Jojoanna · 15/02/2021 20:14

Agreed, Paul has set the kidnapping up ,,

RaraRachael · 15/02/2021 20:20

PLEASE keep Paul, I hadn't thought of it being a set up, but that would account for him loitering about doing nothing whilst phoning Mandy to say he was in trouble. FFS can he be exposed for the lying, son-beating arsehole that he is, once and for all, and get out of Emmerdale. This tedious, repetitive storyline has been going on for ages - nobody likes him or cares what happens to him that's usually the cue for a long running character

PrincessScarlett · 15/02/2021 23:34

Yes, the Paul story is just going in circles now. I was willing Connor to put us all out of our misery and finish Paul off once and for all. Trying to get Liv's money is just despicable. And I thought she used all of the money to buy the house so she doesn't have spare cash lying around anyway.

@JaneJeffer

Oh hello hypocrite Chas. Remember Cameron?
Yeah , that's exactly what I thought! They have very short memories in the Dales 😂
JaneJeffer · 16/02/2021 10:37

I'm glad Charity has got Diane on her side. Chas is being so horrible to her. She was chatting up Al herself five minutes ago Angry

JaneJeffer · 16/02/2021 12:21

Of all time. Of course they won Grin
