Yours is good Grin Shirley (though there was one I think) she says trying to see if m. octopus agrees. (through the mists of time)

Yes StormyI was thinking the same, about Clara esp when I remember the high standard of her Charleston earlier! I reckon it's getting too much for her with her job and all! I don't blame her Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 01/12/2020 11:16

W hvn't had n vwls f wks.

HRVY + THRTY = CRZY r smthng cld wrk?

I can't believe people actually used to write like that on purpose!

I think you're right melj, it must seem a bit miserable to get to the end and not get much reaction, although they're all doing very at well at clapping and cheering loudly. I spotted some silhouettes in the balcony last week, maybe makeup or some crew watch from up there?

this is a favourite song of mine so I hope to God the singers dont butcher it

They will.

do love the no audience though

So do I, but it must be harder for the professionals - I suspect that like a theatre cast, they feed off the energy in the audience. (The contestants are probably relieved)

Inspired idea for N VWLS TTL!

EvilRingahBitch · 01/12/2020 12:59

Songs are up. Can’t copy and paste them all I’m afraid because on phone, but HRVY has got the Ringiest Ringah’s RingTone Song of all time: One from A Chorus Line.

In my dreams when I’m a celeb and a world class dancer I do my Strictly showdance to that in the final. But no actual human being has been cocky enough to pick it before.

melj1213 · 01/12/2020 13:16

Drumroll please... it's Musicals Week!

Let's find out which fantastic routines they've got in store for us:

Bill and Oti: Argentine Tango to Phantom of the Opera from Phantom of the Opera

HRVY and Janette: American Smooth to One (Singular Sensation) from A Chorus Line

Jamie and Karen: Jive to Everybody's Talking About Jamie from Everybody's Talking About Jamie

JJ and Amy: Charleston to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Maisie and Gorka: Jive to Little Shop of Horrors from Little Shop of Horrors

Ranvir and Giovanni: Viennese Waltz to She Used To Be Mine from Waitress

So Nvwls is doing an AS, to the ringiest song ever, two Jives (if Masie and Jamie end up in the dance off then it will be interesting to watch them do the same dance), and Phantom being used for an AT for the second time in 3 years

EvilRingahBitch · 01/12/2020 13:26

Actually I have to correct myself - someone has danced to One before: Emma Bunton - not really shaking my opinion that it’s a song tailor-made for cocky ringahs which may not endear them to the GBP (at least not if they’re female).

cordelia16 · 01/12/2020 13:41

@SylvieSangFroid

Bill did alright but I HATE that move where the females head ends up in the male crotch - wtf??

Yes! Agree! It's horrendous. I remember all too well the Ed Ballsin Katja's face and Anita Rani and Gleb (I think). It's much too much for me .

Didn't Oti do that same move with Kelvin last year? Was it in the Samba? Can't remember the dance, but I remember that move.
TheLadyOfShallnott · 01/12/2020 13:44

I’m not considering my boat at all floated.

Elderflower14 · 01/12/2020 13:51

@GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat
Love the way Fronk says "Helllloooo!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/12/2020 14:05

If Jj has a Charleston it could be too fast for him - this may be his Goodbye week.

(At last!)

mogloveseggs · 01/12/2020 14:20

Cannot unsee gio as fronk now Grin
Did anyone see the lockdown zoom episode? It was brilliant!

lynsey91 · 01/12/2020 14:24

Just watching Johannes on Steph's Packed lunch and the way he is talking about Caroline they obviously got on well. He also said he put that lick into the routine because in rehearsal she kind of put her tongue out and everyone was laughing.

I never understood why some posters were convinced they didn't get on and that he hated her. Totally wrong

Impatiens · 01/12/2020 15:23

You're right, it was in the Samba. It worked well there but I didn't like it this time because I don't like Bill's dancing.

IntermittentParps · 01/12/2020 15:55

Yes, I'm intrigued by them giving JJ a Charleston. Have they decided it's time for him to go? I guess he had to do Latin at some point, but it seems a tough one to start with if they wanted to ease him in/give him a fighting chance.

Then again, it's a light song so maybe they'll be majoring on theatrics/props/muckin' abaaaahhht rather than putting in too much or too-fast content.

awaynboilyurheid · 01/12/2020 16:11

melj12 I love that song too!!! I saw waitress last year and I couldnt get that song out my head. The skinny chap Joe Suggs? that danced with Diane and is now her partner was in it, he was suprisingly good. Think it will be lovely to see Ranvir and Gio dance to it, gets tissues ready ...

kazzaD66 · 01/12/2020 17:10

I see that Joe Varney and Anton are touring a show next summer. Wouldn't have thought of those two together but anyway.....Confused

IntermittentParps · 01/12/2020 17:33

Joe Varney and Anton, together at last Grin

They are coming to Ipswich... My Mum loves Anton and I love Gio so I'm trying to persuade her we can go...

That's dangerously high levels of charm-monstering!
billysboy · 01/12/2020 18:40

when is BVB going to do a " ballroom number "

SoupDragon · 01/12/2020 18:44

BVB has done an American Smooth

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 01/12/2020 18:47

Omg Johannes' entrance on ITT. I'm screaming!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 01/12/2020 18:50

Ooh looking forward to a Little Shop of Horrors jive, sort of!

No doubt there'll be lots of faffing about with watering plants at the start.

Maybe Aljaz can dress up in the background as Audrey.

Cygne · 01/12/2020 18:51

@fiftyval

I don't understand Craig giving vowelphobe a 10 at all. It just shows the nonsense of couple's choice when there is no standard to mark against. I am not a huge Maisie fan but there was so much content in her quickstep more deserving of 10. She has been continually criticised for her feet by Shirley but no mention of vowelphobe's frequently sickled feet ( not relevant this week,I know). Usually Craig picks up on this all the time but vowelphobe continually gets away with it.
That's the whole problem with couple's choice: it's really difficult for judges to pick out whether anything has gone wrong when anything goes. It's not so bad with something like theatre jazz where there are defined conventions and, in particular, if they're doing something like Fosse where there is a very defined style. But for contempowaft, even if they're not dancing in time with each other, for all anyone knows that is what was intended.
jambeforeclottedcream · 01/12/2020 19:03

Waltz, Sa, vw, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, cc, a. Tango, jive, Charleston, samba, paso, (not doing rumba) 12 dances in total.

How many weeks are they doing + semis they do 2 dances. Unsure how finalists are going to do them all.

There's more Latin than ballroom so quite possible BVB hasn't done that much but on the contrary don't get how JJ has done so little.
