Is anyone watching Bringing Up Baby tonight or are we all a bit tired of being outraged?

I have only seen the first one so thought I might watch it, but is anyone else going to?

the other cc mum struck me as a bit neurotic, though.

pmsl at the sloganned brick. and i do love your name theyoungvisiters.

On the sex thing, mentor meant put baby in another room while you do the dirty, I think that lady deliberately misunderstood!
I would ask my kids if they were traumatised cos we did it while they were in the room, but they think we only did it 4 times!

Spiderhammer · 16/10/2007 22:53

Why did we hardly get to see or hear anything from the other continuum woman?

And the other cc Dad didn't like the idea of taking baby for a walk because he (dad) would be tired when they got back! Maybe they weren't that keen

susiemustgetslimcutie · 16/10/2007 22:57

I'm just watching it on Ch4 +1.

Can some one please tell me WHY EXACTLY that woman with the twins had children in the first place? or in fact, any of CV's parents had them?
It seems that their children are just an annoyance that just get in the way of their lives and the noly way is to shut them away in their rooms... out of sight out of mind .

I am 100% decided, should i be lucky enough to have another baby in a year or so... i will be using CS method. well almost. might have to tweek it a bit, but, on the whole, i will be doing it. I wish i'd known about it before i had DD. she's 9 months now, so a bit late for most of it I guess she's had a fir amount of it though in terms of contact and being fairly babyled. I never want to stop BF either... but will, of course...at some point!
might be sooner than later if Dd carries on biting and pinching me

anyway, back ot the program... to coin Catherine Tate... what a load of old shit... i'm amazed that C4 allowed CV airtime. I'm appalled and shocked she is still being featured. weening at under 4 months??? not caring what WHO say? barking mentalist.

I know a 12yr old girl who was a cv type baby, now she won't cuddle anyone. Doesn't see the point. Let's hope they do re-visit and see the consequences.

My 2.5 yo made me a sandwich the other day - supervised of course but she chose what she was doing -I don't recommend raw mushroom, cucumber and chilli powder tho , but them again, I've got 3 so as the great libby purves said ' by the time you've got 3 you let them juggle knives'

I did flinch at Matt and Vicky talking about having sex. God, maybe I'm turning into Dreena. It was the "A bit of How's Your Father" Do people really talk like that? God, that would entice me into bed for sure.

Vicky boasted about weaning early as well didn't she? I wish she was my childminder just so I could tell her she now isn't.

Rani was very scrawny looking, I thought, and her Jimmy Nesbit husband looked a bit Goddfellas/Frankie Carbone at one point

re: knives, you girls are so not with it

have you not heard of www.baby-led-slicing.com

goingfor3 · 17/10/2007 08:35

I watched last night and don't know if I just saw what I wanted to see but when all of the families met at the end it was clear to me that the twins parents seemed uncomfortable holding thier babies and the babies did too. It just seemed unnatural to them whereas the mother doing the cc seemed no natural with her baby.
I really don't see why a 2 year old would need to be a ble to use a knife and why they made it such a large advantage of cc.

screamsprout · 17/10/2007 08:43

I just saw the knife thing as an example of the sort of skills cc babies learn from observing adult life. Pretty handy in a society where you hunt your own food/need lots of badly chopped cucumber.

SharpMolarBear · 17/10/2007 08:48

Only watched the first 15 mins or so
What was the knives thing?
And I thought that beanbag & porrige baby was 8 weeks old

havalina · 17/10/2007 10:23

Thought the "children never hurt themselves" comment was a bit. Adults have had decades to perfect co-ordination and survival instinct etc and they hurt themselves all the time. Fair enough cc children may learn skills from constantly watching the parents, but they ain't blummin superhuman.

goingfor3 · 17/10/2007 10:25

If my children learnt from watching me they would certainly cut themselves!!!!!

morningpaper · 17/10/2007 10:26

phew so glad I didn't watch it, much nicer reading all about it here

cannot BELIEVE that :

successful parenting = baby sleeping through
successful marriage = cock goes here

how fcking depressing

AitchTwoOh · 17/10/2007 11:27

what about Rani's fake tits, MP, can you believe them? it was an absolute cop-out, load of shite from start to finish.

if there is nowt else on and i am reduced to TV on demand then i grudgingly watch, shout, squirm at the nonsense that it is.hell bells it is so contrived and deliberatley provocative, the Scary one is the routine dive (cant recall her name Verity?vanity?)

TheStepfordChav · 17/10/2007 12:50

This prog HAS brought issues of parenting up with my teenage twins and given me the opportunity to point out why CV is so WRONG - has led to dd say she will do cc when she is a parent

(Although I also think after last night that it may have occurred to them that their parents have done 'jiggy jiggy' more than once !!)
