Gosh we're a chatty bunch!

Motsi had to dash back to her home in Germany for some sort of personal emergency, which meant she had to quarantine afterwards and can’t be in the studio on Saturday....and perhaps the week after???

I would not be sorry to see Anton leave the show from a dancing point of view, but I must admit I'm really looking forward to seeing how he does at judging! I think he will be great!

I love Anton and was hoping that he'd become a judge. This, for me, almost makes up for the disappointment of losing Nicola and Katya!!

As long as Anton doesn't mug, gurn & try to be funny it should be ok.

I had to go back and watch Danny & Oti’s AS - I’d forgotten the end!!

Intrigued to see Anton judging. I've been enjoying Gethin presenting ITT. Much calmer and less shouty than Zoe or Rylan.

I think the dance off may be Jamie, Caroline or Max. JJ probably won't be great but will get votes for the whole military uniform thing. Apparently the "surprise" mentioned on ITT is probably a video message for JJ from his old mate Prince Harry, but not sure how much of a vote-getter PH will be among the British public these days!

I was thinking the same, TheMadGardener! Until recently, a video call from Prince Harry would have been a vote catcher.

Looking forward to seeing Anton as a judge. I’ve often wondered how he would be. Not particularly interested in anything PH has to say.

Also: my contender for best ever on Strictly is Danny & Oti's American Smooth. That was beautiful, and more Gene Kelly than Ore ever was.

....yes to Charles and Karen- the best couples choice, nothing since has come close.
Danny and Oti’s American smooth is one of those dances I watch every now and again... and I still catch my breath at the end every time. Strictly magic, the like of which hasn’t been seen for a while

I have always liked Anton I'm very pleased he's judging tonight.

I certainly won't miss The Katya Show tonight . Poor Nic. for her having Cov. but for her ,no doubt, pleasure at having a rest from her manic partner.

I thought it was lovely how happy and excited Anton was on ITT to be judging.

It should have been given to him in the first place and not Motsi. For a dancer she gives really no intelligent comments or helpful advice. She talks as much rubbish as Alisha Dixon did but at least Alisha had the excuse that she didn't know much about dancing.

Also although I do think Motsi is impartial I don't think she should be a judge when her sister is one of the pros.

I so hope Anton does a good job and they think about making him a permanent judge. I would like to see Motsi go as I can't stand her shouting, arm waving and keep standing up. I also would not be that sorry to see Shirley go as although she does good give advice, criticism etc she is too bitchy and always slobbers over the men which is revolting

Otherwise TBH I think he should have been given a chance LONG ago.

I've seen a report that they won't ask Nicola back because she would have an unfair advantage. I must say, I really can't see how she would have an advantage compared to all the ringers they've had over the years.

Yes NoTime For boxing, which she has retired from. IMO Nic is not a natural dancer at all. ( I can't understand why everyone on Strictly gushes over her dancing, which if you look carefully is flat footed and handed ) She has also retired from boxing.

Anton always gets the weaker candidates so isn't dancing for long it seems

I read something by one of the celebs that had done one of the one of specials for Children in Need or Christmas (sorry can't remember who it was) then went on to do the full series and they had to start training a week later than everyone else. No one that has pulled out after starting has been allowed back BVB didn't start. It's tough on Nicola but they are actually being consistent.

Ugh Anton! Sorry, Anton fans, I have always detested him because:

(1) He can't dance Latin AT ALL, even with good dancers like Katie Derham or Emma Barton

(2) He turns most of his partners into comedy fodder. Unlike say Oti, who tries so hard even with duds like Graeme Swann.

(3) Will never get over him calling Leila Rouass a ' paki".

Maybe he will redeem himself on the judges panel... Maybe.

They also have to skip whichever dance they did for CiN as they’re already trained in that so have an advantage. For Harry Judd I think it was Paso as he did that with Ola for CiN. Ditto Simon Webb, who had to skip the dance he did in the Christmas Special before he signed on to the full show (Cha Cha, I think).

So Nicola coming back next year would be completely unworkable, as in theory she’d have to miss a month of training and skip three dances to even things up.

I think it's fair enough that Nicola won't be back next year. She would have been paid whatever they're paid for this year, and there have been many celebs who have had to drop out over the years due to external circumstances - Kelly Brook, Will Bayley both come to mind. They weren't allowed back either.

Monkseal does tweet throughout the shows, as does his husband, both very funny.

If Strictly want to repeat having a same sex couple, I'd love to see Gio take that on, he is amazing at getting the best from his celebs.

It's a shame Nicola is out as I had this ear marked for her tango after hearing it on Radio 1 this week.

won't miss Motsi tonight. even if Anton sits and says nothing he would be better.
shame that Nicola has to leave. but she would have most likely gone this week as she was the weakest.
