Gosh we're a chatty bunch!

Motsi is isolating after a trip to Germany ( daily mail this morning online) not sure how they will work around that one.

I've been shielding with my DH since March. I'll be a judge.

Relevant experience...
Know nothing about dancing, but can make up shite
Have ample bosom
Able to shout if needed, or add "yah" to every sentence
Very clumsy
Could have phone under unsuitable frock so I could channel you lot
Have hotline access to The Predicting Octopus.

Do I get the job?

Maybe they will all have to go back into their bubbles/self isolate for 2 weeks before the final so they can all perform again?

There was a question upthread about whether the judges had decided not to eliminate anyone - as already mentioned that hasn’t happened since series 6 but wasn’t there a week when they didn’t have a dance off because someone (Anastasia??) was injured so the other person just got sent home automatically?

I wasn't; Katya is sooooo pushy, I bet poor Nic just needed some down time and didn't get it wasdriven

I reckon Nic isn't pleased to be getting Covid of course but she'll finally get a rest!!!

I’m happy that Anton will get an opportunity as a judge hope he does well. Our family love Anton and find him very entertaining so it’s a welcome decision in our house. Good luck to Anton :)
Kids wanted to watch the Simpsons dance again last night - I didn’t think it was humanly possible to cringe any more than I did the first time I watched it but apparently it is 😮

I liked Gethin on ITT yesterday, he's found his presenting chops, better than Zoe or Rylan. Quite a bit of drama eh!!

Off now to observe from afar.

I am looking forward to seeing what Anton is like. I think he will be good. He will almost certainly be better than Motsi and talk sense and not stand up and shout like a demented being.

Not sure why Motsi was doing it if she wants to travel between here and Germany. Bruno is not travelling so she shouldn't be

The problem with on line judging is you are stuck with the view the camera give - it's impossible to watch their feet!

Motsi normally lives in Germany so I’m guessing there was some kind of family emergency. This is her statement

Anastacia couldn’t dance in the dance-off so they reverted to the pre-dance-off era rules and sent home the couple with the lowest combined score - which happened to be the other bottom two couple - Melvin I think.

Thanks Evil, glad I wasn’t imagining it! Yes it was Melvin and many people thought it was very unfair but he got another chance when he won a Christmas special.

I think they'd have been better if they'd have all self isolated in a massive hotel for the entire of the series.. not very practical at all.. but not sure how this is going to play out now with them dropping like flies to isolate.

I've been thinking this. I guess the main problem is the sheer amount of space needed for training – a studio-sized space for each couple. I don't know if there's a hotel with enough room.

Incredibly unlikely. Katya is under contract and would have had to produce the result of her test.

People at home are restricted by whatever the camera chooses to cover. If they want to concentrate on, say, the footwork they won't be able to do that properly. You do quite often see the judges standing up or leaning to the side to look at some particular aspect of the dancing.

Motsi is probably doing a Bruno and just commenting o the results show. It would be harder to judge fairly if not in the studio and relying on the TV coverage, I would think.

Ah, I suppose I imagined they'd set up a Motsi-cam of some sort in the studio so she could see properly, but that makes sense!

I wonder if they might consider inviting Nicola back another time? Usually if it's the pro who's ill the slab isn't out because they draft in another pro, but obviously that hasn't been possible this year.

Yes Moon I reckon that the contestants are also under contract, they do turn up a lot on non dance programmes on the BEEB. The One Show couldn't work without them sometimes!
