Yes, I think they new ballroom, new Latin, re-did one of each, and did a show dance.

Wasn’t there some weird fusion thing where they had to jive/QS to ‘I love to Boogie’? One of Strictly’s weird, never-to-be-repeated experiments (see also: Natalie Cassidy dancing rock & roll; Strictly African Dancing with Darren & Lilia; Wembley arena ...)

I’m guessing the plugger is CQ... always mentioning her husband by his full name (that’s Sam Farmer for those of you who somehow managed to miss the first 200 times she said it).

Shame they had to go out but I don’t think they would have been in for much longer, maybe a couple of weeks. I do think there will be an elimination this week as others have said they always have done previously. To be honest a 5 person final would be a but much, although only 2 couples would be too few. Let’s just hope there’s no more couples lost.

@tenlittlecygnets they’re in bubbles but are not isolating from the rest of the world. So Nicola was living alone whilst Katya continued with her normal living arrangements (not sure if she currently lives alone or with someone). In other couples the pro is living alone.

This means that the single person can interact with another household as per the current rules on bubbles and mixing households.

The support bubbles don’t mean they are cut off from everyday life, they will still be going to the shops, potentially using public transport, etc.

Hoping it's Caroline out this weekend then.

I thought Neil was good last year, I enjoyed his dances with Alex. The jive to "Twist Again" was brilliant.

I loved that routine! I still rewatch it every now and again.

It’s a bit disappointing as I’d have been interested to see where they went. As a few of us said she wasn’t the best dancer and I’d have liked to have seen some of the ballroom in hold dancing rather than the mirror stuff. I also wanted to see how the judges voted if she was in the dance off again as I’m sure they’d try to keep her in as same sex couple is a bit publicity point for strictly this year.

Was there a week where the judges didn't send anyone home from the dance off? I’ve only been watching a few years so would be in last 2/3 years ... I have vague recollection but could be mistaken.

I think this week will be normal but as PP said they’ll keep two close couples in after dance off another week to ensure they have quite a lot of couples in as it nears the final and the last few weeks can go ahead.

I don’t think so. There’s only been one time I can recall where no one was sent home, in the series 6 semi final:

I think this is why Maisie moved out of her family home, to live alone so that Gorka didn't have to isolate away from Mia & Gemma. Only one half of the couple needed to live alone.

I really like Gethin, I used to watch him on Blue Peter when Dd was young, he was my choice when he did SCD too which was a long time ago now.

What a shame. Would be lovely if Jason came back, but guess he can't , as he'll have been living a "normal" life since leaving.

It’s just occurred to me that they presumably won’t be able to have the couples come back to perform in the final like they usually do: once the couples are eliminated both pro & celeb will be going back to their families, so they won’t be ‘bubbled’ by the time of the final so won’t be able to dance together.

The final is going to be really flat, isn’t it?
